I have a 3TB drive dedicated to recordings and buffers. NPVR is a member of a group that has full privileges to make , delete read and write files.  I have about 90GB of recordings on it. But NPVR says it is 98% full. It get's the amount on the drive correct, but apparently sees it as only a 100GBdrive. I was also having issues when root owned the mount point for the drive, even the though NPVR had full rights on the drive. I would randomly get  failed recordings from access errors. Now NPVR has full privileges of the mount point and it works fine. I'm the only person who has any access to this computer, si it doesn't really matter, but root normally owns mount points to prevent accidental deletions.  It shouldn't cause issues. I had the same space issue when I had recordings on the same drive as NPVR and the OS.

Thanks for your help!
Clay

What Linux distribution are you using. What file system did you use to format your 3TB drive. Are there any other operating systems installed on the same drive. How many partitions are on it.

I've never set a quota and do not know how to. What errors am I getting for the live tv buffer?

Mint 21. It was 21.2 but I must hae made a mistake when I did a reinstall. It is dul boot with w10 but I never use it any more. It's a dedicated media server. I access it with a firestick 4k max with UIDroid I only occationally use the browser to come here when I have issues. It is an ntfs drive because it was a shared drive. Linux has no issue with accessing the drive, just NPVR. It has just 1 partition. It's a second drive

You get

2023-12-27 20:06:57.393 [ERROR][1] LiveTV directory does not exist: /media/clay/64C014BB48F436CB/Buffer
and
2023-12-27 20:07:17.400 [ERROR][11] Unexpected error cleaning old live tv buffer files: System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: Could not find a part of the path '/media/clay/64C014BB48F436CB/Buffer'.

Boot to Windows and run a chkdsk to see if that helps.

Note that your screenshots of Linux are not 100% because NextPVR is running under a different user nextpvr and you you may have different rules.

I never set any rules. It's about a week old Linux install.

Fair enough but this is not a NextPVR issue and you need to research it on the Mint forums if chkdsk didn't help. Most people will probably just tell you not to use ntfs.

What size partition have you dedicated to Mint from the 3TB drive. Remember NPVR can only report what it sees. You still haven’t mentioned what file system your 3TB drive was formatted in but by deduction I assume Ext4 for Mint and NTFS for Windows. The important bit is the size of the Mint partition you set aside during Mint install.

As was mentioned it’s not really an NPVR issue but the more information you can provide the better the chance you have of getting this issue resolved.

If you look in the first screenshot the NAME field is not the same as your configured in NextPVR /media/clay/64C014BB48F436CB/Recordings

I am wondering if you are missing a 1 at the end in NextPVR settings?
