In recent days, NextPVR.exe has been closing down on its own after variable amounts of time playing a live channel.

For troubleshooting purposes, which would be better to post here -- the NPVR logs or Windows's Event Viewer? I'll be happy to upload the indicated files.

Thanks.

I'm attaching both log files and event files. The log files include the "current" file and the files to which NPVR gives 1, 2, and 3 designations at the end of the filename.

I am also attaching a selection of events from Event Viewer (there are many more).

Please advise.

UPDATE: Attachments not showing up after dragging into attachment field.  Angry

Any alternative ways of attaching files to a thread post?

if they are over 2MB you will need to upload them to something like OneDrive or Google Drive etc. & provide an external link.

Attachments need to be zipped and under 2MB otherwise you need external links

It sure would be nice if you followed the support rules and send the complete nextpvr logs so I don't have to ask for them.

What I can say it you aren't using the recommended LAV audio and video decoders but that won't cause the 0-0 etc that is a server restart.

Thank you, I'll look for those decoders.

So the files that I attached -- is there anything further that you need?

That's why I asked in the OP what files I should upload for the given situation. At least once before, I had sent NPVR log files when what you needed instead were Event Viewer files, thus making more work for everyone involved and lengthening the process. This is the mutual inconvenience that I was trying to avoid in my OP, by asking from the outset.

I'll be happy to adhere to the support rules, but the thing is, I don't readily see where on the forum they are listed so that going forward I can bookmark and refer to them.

Please bear in mind that while you do this for multiple hours a day (and that's hugely appreciated), my participation here is only occasional and ad hoc, so my memory of the procedure doesn't get reinforced on a regular basis.

Thanks again.

They were useless for the problem as described. The fact the you were getting 0 and 0-0 and 0-0-0 etc means the server was stopping and the client crashing in the events could be normal in that scenario. We need to see why the server was restarting.

This is a support forum The basic documentation is actually on the wiki with the specific link here https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/get-help and there is an FAQ on the web server http://localhost:8866/help.html I redirected you there before https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid604019 and I think we even discussed you participating in improving the wiki.

Thanks Martin, I have bookmarked that Get Help page and now I'm attaching the ZIP files as described there.

BTW, I haven't given up on the idea of contributing to the wiki, but real life got in the way for a while. Things are easing up now and I'm spending more time getting acquainted with NPVR. First thing will be to read up (again?) on those LAV decoders.

Some technical forums have "Before you post" sticky posts at the top with requirements/suggestions as to the information to be included in a question. That Get Help page would make for a good sticky, making the instructions stand out more prominently.

Thanks the only issue with a -0 was when you restared NextPVR during recording at the end of February and that was after 10 days up.

Code:
2026-02-28 19:59:07.251    [DEBUG][10]    Started recording (1545:12:D:\MediaPVR Public Videos\Life, Liberty & Levin\Season 2026\Life,.Liberty.&.Levin.S2026E17.ts)
2026-02-28 19:59:07.258    [DEBUG][10]    No C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\scripts\ParallelProcessing.bat
2026-02-28 19:59:07.571    [DEBUG][10]    Active...staying awake
2026-02-28 20:27:38.476    [DEBUG][2]    Unloading...
2026-02-28 20:27:38.477    [INFO][2]    Flushing logs
2026-02-28 20:27:38.542    [DEBUG][1]    CaptureSource.LoadAll()
2026-02-28 20:27:38.544    [DEBUG][1]    No C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\scripts\PreShutdown.bat
2026-02-28 20:27:38.544    [INFO][1]    Flushing logs

The main issue I see from the server perspective is probably what you are seeing NextPVR.exe crashing during Live TV I see lots of

2026-03-08 14:22:03.134 [ERROR][10] Live stream expired without 15 second renewal. (handle:150010)

Let's start by seeing if LAV decdoers help and updating to 7.0.5 of course.
