COMSKIP media player?

UPDATE:

I may have jumped the gun a little.
It worked great in my test, where the input files resided in the same directory as COMCUTTER.BAT, but in the real world my shows are stored on my NAS.
Getting COMCUTTER (stored in the Scripts folder of my server) to play nice with my NAS is proving to be a challenge (for me anyhow).

Has to do with COMCUTTER not recognizing UNC paths.
(CMD does not support UNC paths as current directories)

I can't easily specify one particular path, since I record to 3 different directories.

Any ideas on how to code COMCUTTER.BAT to work with my NAS would be appreciated.

Try this...

map your nas to be a network drive...

so to windows it just looks like X:\

if i want to find all of a particular type of file i run this dos command:

CD X:\        (to get to the drive)

Then

dir /s *.mp4 > output.txt (this will create a file called output.txt which has a listing of all .mp4 files on the drive, with the full path.)

you can then use this as an input to comskip to convert all files one by one.

I worked out the problem I had using my NAS files, but after doing more testing I don't think I will be using COMSKIP after all.
It's just too flaky.
I was OK with it missing a commercial now and then, but when it cut off the end of Jeopardy the other night the wife wasn't very happy!

I played with some of the INI files without any improvement.
If anyone reading this has some positive feedback about what setting to adjust please share.
From what I read online it varies from location/provider.

In your earlier post you asked "Have you considered something like "lossless cut" to permanently remove commercials based on the EDL file?"
If I understand correctly that app still uses the results gotten by COMSKIP?
If so, I don't see how that would help.

Comskip can be adjusted. IIRC, there's a settings file where you can change or add various parameters that would alleviate this problem.

My wife, also would not be happy to miss final jeopardy, and I am pretty sure it has never happened.

If you're referring to comskip.ini, I have already tried those settings as I stated above.
If you know specific settings please share them.
