Invalid file, no error reported

Overnight, a scheduled recording is reported as successful, but in fact the .ts file is only 28Mb and is not playable (with VLS for NPVR). It's on a channel that has worked fine before, and it has the timestamp when it was due to end, so it looks like it didn't fail (e.g. loss of signal) and was truncated

Any thoughts?

Looks like I had a similar issue overnight again on the same channel (WeDo Movies), but that doesn't show on HDHR, so I assume Hauupage captured this.

Clementine (2019). It's a bigger file (449 MB), but again reported as invalid (won't play in VLC)

Does Live TV work on that channel?

Good catch. I just tried it. According to the guide, there is a film broadcasting; the player receives data, but no video is shown. The HDHR app says 'unspecified error', even after a rescan, so I'm not sure what is happening. According to one site, the channel is in the LOC multiplex, so I tried another channel on that multiplex, and that was ok.

I tuned in a DTV, and it broadcast a message saying to tune to channel 275. 275 is an internet-supplied service, so I have my answer. I am guessing there is no way currently to record freeview IP streams.

Could you capture a one minute full mux TS and PM use a link? You can capture https://tscapture.com/ or if you wan the HDHR method let me know. You'd need to find a time when you aren't using the quad + HDHR which isn't often. I'd like to see if we can block it during the scan.

I installed TS Capture and stopped the NPVR tray app and service, but when I run TSC, I get an exception (I am running it on the DVR machine via RDP)

The app then runs, but I can't scan channels.

You need stop NextPVR for minute you will be capturing.

The fullmux fr the hdhr (use your device id and pick your tuner) and the frequency for your local muxes it should have both wedo channels.

hdhomerun_config DEVICEID set /tuner0/channel auto:frequency
confirm it tunes
hdhomerun_config DEVICEID get /tuner0/streaminf0
then save
hdhomerun_config DEVICEID save /tuner0 fullmux.ts
