Well, I am very excited that your tools were able to finally prove my sanity! LOL
I went back and reviewed the info on setting up LAV filters, and setting up the hardware decoding isn't shown. I wonder if that was causing issues on my old PC too... It worked fine for a long time, then started having the issue. Then I bought this new PC, and it had the issue immediately despite being 10 years newer. Hopefully this solves the problem. Fingers crossed. Thank you very much for your help.

Yep, fingers crossed. If it doesn't help, then you've got that option of trying the NPVRTSReader5.ax that throws frames if your machine isn't keeping up.

If it still fails and you try yauiclient again, the i key will pop up an information screen and it gives a count of frame drops incoming and at the demuxer. It should also tell you the h/w decoding mode it is using.

Which key were you using? That points more to file problems.

That could be the problem it might be accidentally going to NextPVR which doesn't support volume, I will have to check.

NextPVR doesnt support a volume API so there could be an issue causing the black screen you saw. Hard to say without logs so I need to try to reproduce it.
