This is not the problem in my previous post, I have been doing manual updates of the epg because of this problem.
Also this is not a GB-PVR problem directly. GB-PVR never gets a chance to do the update due to this problem. I just hoped since it is a suspend issue someone might have an answer.
I have my pvr computer going into s3 (suspend to ram) sleep mode and I can wake it with my mouse and everything is fine. It also wakes itself to do recordings but I haven't observed it during a wake for recording so I don't know if the screen is working or not. The recordings themselves are fine. The problem is that when it wakes itself for epg updates (1:00 pm EST) is doesn't fully wake up. I wakes and the drives spin up and you can hear activity neither monitor nor tv get a display. Then approximately 1 minute later it goes back to sleep. I checked the logs for GB-PVR and nothing happened at 1pm in any of them. I did note in the system log that the wireless network card established a connection so I don't think it is a network issue. I did read a MS KB article about waking from hibernation and going back to sleep 5 minutes later but that doesn't apply since I am not using hibernation (S4) and it is going back to sleep in about 1 minute.
If anyone wants more information about S3 sleep mode or other suspend issues you might want to check the forums at
