My Pictures 3.0.1 beta fix

Hy Reven,

Thx for the hard work. Mypictures now works in slideshow mode. When I play random It tels it is making a playlist, then shows the first image on the MVP but does not show the consecutive images. I do see the processor load go up and down on the server though so it seems the processing is being done but it does not get broadcast.

One very nice feature would be that when playing in slideshow mode Mypictures would pick up where it left last time. Even nice would be when this is possible as a screensaver.

im aware of this issue but i cant do much about it, theres nothing obivious in the code to cause this error, and since i dont have a device i cant debug test and try and find the problem.

theres nothing i can do about the MVP.

I didnt try on the PC before, but there it indeed works flawlessly.

On thing might help you. I am using the 3.01 beta now. Before in the 3.00 this behaviour was similar in slideshow mode. It would show about 10 pictures (don't remember the precise number but always the same number) and then get stuck on 1 image although the server was clearly rendering the images. Unfortunately I do not have the log any more.

Reven, I think I may have found a bug.

When I first enter My Pictures from the main menu all is well my Virtual Root shows Up, I can navigate smoothly. I have the animations turned off. But, if I navigate down a few levels, and then jump back to the Main menu, when I go back to My Pictures, the menu virtual root navigation is really slow. The only way to bring it back to normal is to drill down past the virtual root. Or restart GBPVR. Once I do this menu navigation is normal. If I exit or "previous" folder, back to the virtual root, its slow navigation. It happens with both keyboard and remote.

I'm running a 1ghz AMD with 256ram, and the first item in my virtual root is network drive (mapped as UNC share). Actually all the other virtual root items are memory cards or CD's None of which have any media loaded.

Its a situation I can live with but it's weird. Its only on the virtual root and only after I have used my pictures backed out or switched another plugin and returned to my pictures.

Any ideas?

errr could just be a thread trying to generate thumbnails for the dirs/images.

but 1ghz machine i doubt you will be able to run animations very smoothly, i suggest you turn it off.

I do have them turned off. Its something else that's causing the slow response. At what point does the plugin start generateing thumbnails? I thought it was when you entered a folder for the first time. My virtual root shouldn't need thumbs.

some images dont seem to work with the standard C# .GenerateThumbnail() method, it just causes and error, so i have to create the thumbnail myself. nothing to worry about.

Great plugin.

Using it in Blue.

I linked my Photos via the virtual folder

Sometimes while running the Slideshow, I noticed that the remote stops working and I cannot cancel slideshow.

Also, any plans to add support for playing videos from the plugin? I capture a lot of MPEGs with my digital camera and I keep them in same folder as the images since all are related. It would be nice to be able to play the movies as well.
