Before I ask for more, I would just like to say that GBPVR is great......

Here in the UK, some of the TV channels only transmit at certain times of the day. I think some even share a multiplex frequency. Problem is, the channel has to be active for GBPVR to find the channel during a scan. Scanning with Hauppauge WinTV always finds all the channels, at any time of the day, as does the DVB digibox on my TV. I don't understand the technicalities, but all the information must be available at all times.

Just a wish.

You would think that when they aren't broadcasting that they would just put up a blank picture that says "Currently Off-Air". That would solve any problems...

I'd have to agree with you here - i've been wondering about this for a while but assumed no one else was too bothered lol. It's a pain tuning part time stations in the UK through GBPVR as you have to do one scan pre 6pm for the daytime channels and a second scan post 6pm to pick up the rest.

I'm also experimenting with the DVB EPG grabbing and it's giving me an additional problem as i have it grab the epg at 4am (my preferred time) but this means it fails to get any data for evening channels (most importantly BBC3 & 4). On the other hand if I were to change the grab to later in the day it would not get data for the daytime ones.

As you mentioned, I'm sure there are ways round this as set top boxes and other apps manage to pick up on part time channels with epg data at any time.

Only a minor niggle in the whole scale of things but it means I'll be going back to XMLTV for complete listings which is a shame because otherwise the DVB EPG works very well for me Sad

To be honest with you, if I was in the UK with access to these transmissions I could probably have it sorted in no time, but its difficult from here. All of our NZ DVB signals transmit all day, so I dont really have anything similar to test against.
