I seriously don't think it's possible. I'm about 95% sure from personal experience. I used to have a PS2 that i mod'd, and was very into the scene. The capabilities of PS2 with programs is VERY limited because of the hardware.
Unless someone actualy was very familiar with the programming language AND also happen to know exactly how the MVP worked and could make a program for the PS2 that simlilated a MVP, i wouldn't look forward to this anytime soon. And of course there was a beta of a webbrowser, but that never really took off, but if that was possible to simlulate an MVP by web browser only, life would be much easier even on the PC.
So i'm affraid you probably won't be seeing this happen. The XBOX would be seeing the likelyness of this happening before the ps2, only because the power is much far superior in the scene then ps2 (IE-Whats out in the scene of emulators available for both systems, the ps2 speed is only capable in MAME of playing games in 1980 "pacman, donkey kong, etc." and anything else is ,in fps, way too slow, Verses on the MAME xbox version plays most games just fine of most all years. As well as other consoles that most don't exist because the power isn't fast enough to be playable. [meaning, some were made at an attempt to prove it could be done, but speeds were extremely slow, and not playable.] Plus the media player capabilitied of the PS2 ("PS2 Mediaplayer") at the time were not the greatest. Mp3 played fine, AVI's and MPG were only so-so.
Definitely not a downer of seeing this happen, but just more trying to be imformative with the answer to the question.
