Hi Sub,

Referring to your response to this thread re DVB/ATSC based EPG not having a file to manipulate, is there a way I could dump the database to an xml to get my XML Grabber to manipulate or or post-epg update process it? If not, is this wish that could come true Big Grin ?

To be honest, I doubt it. The DVB EPG just doesnt work that way - there is no xml etc, so it'd be a total rewrite of that area of the app.

If you were wanting to manipulate the data regardless of EPG source, you'd probably be better to do it on the data already in the database, since it'd then work with all EPG sources.

OK, fair enough. What would be the tools and the steps to go through the data already in the database?
Some sort of script that uses an SQL editor, opens the npvr.db3, scans for text to filter and search replace, parse etc? Are such tools readily available? Thanks

Sorry, I dont know. I'm not aware of any utilities that would already do what you want. There is certainly command line sqlite utilities for executing SQL that can be used from scripts, or libraries for querying and updating sqlite databases from apps or utilities, for developers wanting to create things like this.

Or you could try dvbGuide, which is slightly easier to set up.
