I'd be interested in the response too

pknighton67 - I think I have close to the same problem as you from time to time. I switched to Cyberlink v5.0.0813 and this did help a bit I think, but if there is a beter version I'd love to hear about it to try it out too.

I noted with the Intervideo mux the time to bring up a LIVE TV channel was a little longer + sometimes the channel wouldn't come up. With the Cyberlink v5.0.0813 this is much improved, so I'm kind of guessing a good test may be to go to LiveTV and then switch between channels and count the number of unsuccessful locks.

Clanky Wrote:Do you know if you definitely have the correct aerial? If you are in the uk & are on a band 'A' analogue transmitter you will definitely need a different aerial for dvb. Good quality coax will also help, the old brown or white analog coax should be replaced with better cable - see this for different cable types. Type D is the one commonly used in old analog setups

I'm running XP SP2 with dual novas & the old mpgmux v4 & it all works fine. I havent tried the latest mux's as I dont want to break a working setup Smile

To be honest I'm not to sure on parts of my setup what cable is being used. I'm currently renting and am kinda stuck with alot of the cabling that is in place allready. What I have is an aerial that comes in downstairs at my tv, I have no idea where it comes from or what type of cable it is. I then plug this into a booster box that came as part of a kit especially for digital TV.

Then a big long cable comes of this(this is a type B cable I think from looking at the diagrams) then this goes into an other old booster box(this may be the weak link!) which currently has 2 short cables coming off it, that go into each of the tv cards. These cables were pre-made, but one came with the digital tv kit I mentioned. It is white with a gold coloured end.

Watching TV from these cards is fine most of the time, apart from the occasional stutter. Although like I say, I think the signal that comes in is weak, as plug the aerial into the tv downstairs I get a bit of a fuzzy picture, more so on channel 5.

Anyway, thanks for the information on this, as I had no idea there were different cable types and that you need different ones for digital.

I'm would really like to try a different version of the cyberlink mux, could anyone let me know where to get the different versions from, version 4 and the older 5 versions?

Thanks again.

funkybro_uk - we'd be still very interested in how you got the cyberlink mux version you mentioned, ie 5.0.0.1307 (re fixing 0kb recording problems)?

He got it from me, but at the time I asked him not to forward it to any other party. Unfortunately, this version has never been publically released, and can be trace directly back to me, and I wasnt prepared to get myself in legal strife.

agreed - we don't want to get you in any strife sub Smile - if you think this version (i.e. 5.0.0.1307 ) helps with the 0kb problem (better than the 5.0.0813 version) is there a proper way for us to source this?

BTW - I just posted some questions re 0kb recording on http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...ost&t=9471

No, there is no other way to get this file (that I know of). Hopefully capture devices will start to bundle this newer mux filter with there software soon, giving users at least a chance of get hold of it.

The highest version number I've seen publically available is v5.0.0.813

Sub,

I found 5.0.0.1307 on the net. I can detail where if it isn't taboo. Or just a hint at least. It isn't illegal or anything since i didn't encounter any EULAs when acquiring it..

I can probably say that at least one card manufacturer packages it in some of their drivers. I've downloaded just about every one and finally hit a winner! Smile
