It might just be me but my MCE2005 remote has no effect on playback volume.

I know a lot of people use Girder and others to add functionality but I am not sure how this works when volume control is not the active window.

Anyway if its not already there my wish is for 'built-in' volume/mute functionality from MCE2005 remote.
Core2-E2180, 1G RAM, 1Gb-5450 Silent, 2Tb +300g HDDs.
Three tuners: Twinhan DVB-T x 1, Hauppauge Nova 500T (dual)

DTB Digital SD + HD content (PAL-MPEG2-AC3).
Custom case made very quiet. Zalman CPU cooler.
Sits in rack with other HiFi.

ParaLED to show tuner activity.

Nope - nothing here. The red light on the reciever blinks that the signal was revieved but no change in volume.

What should happen? Should the windows 'master' volume change? Is there an OSD when this happens? Could it be a sound chip/driver issue?

Its not a big deal. But would be nice.

I assumed so. I've not seen other reports of it not working.

Do the remote volume controls work for you with Windows Media Player?

My MCE2005 remote did not work for me until I installed Girder and programmed the buttons to change the volume. I wonder if the audio driver have something to do with this?

MUTE works in iTunes and mediaplayer but not GBPVR
VOLUME doesn't work in any.

I am using the default SP2 drivers for the remote.
Sound is an onboard ASUS not sure which chip provider.

Ok, will that at least shows there is something more to it that just GB-PVR that is stopping your volume working. I can control the volume while in windows media player using my MCE 2005 remote.
