Eirc - I have tried your .bat file for comclean2. It works great, but I have 2 remuxed files that are created. One is created by cuttermaran and placed in the c:\program files\comskip2\ directory. Another remux is created a few kb larger is created by mplex1 and is placed in the directory of the mpg file. My questions are the following:
(1) Is the creation of the two remux mpg files normal?

(2) Is there a reason that you do not use the remuxed mpg file created by cuttermaran?

Thanks for your work on comskip. It is a really great tool.

I have my GOP for all recordings set to 6, running comskip 5.7, comclean 2, Cuttermaran 1.64, and everything works perfectly Smile

Does cuttermaran already remux the files? :o
Still more to learn,
In that case I have to change comclean2 to skip the mplex1 processing.

Yes, Cuttermaran remuxes.
You have to open Actions, settings, multiplex tab, and specify the folder and filename for YOUR version of mplex, otherwise it uses the default Cuttermaran one, which leaves timestamps screwed up, video unplayable in some cases.
I also had manually set an output folder, and wondered why cuttermaran was running, but I wasn't getting any remuxed output, until I discovered where they had been put. Just specify the remuxer, then disable (take out the tick mark) it, and comclean 2 looks after it nicely.

I do have one issue. The .wme files that comskip outputs. They label the first segment of show and commercial as #0, which causes Womble (mpeg-vcr) to stall completely. It expects to see the first segment as #1.
Not a big deal, now that I have comskip tuned, and using comclean2/cuttermaran, but every now and then, I need to manually cut a recording, and usually use womble for this, now I can't Big Grin

Solved (I hope)
http://mk.kaashoek.com/gbpvr/comskip79_8.zip

Do you prefer the remux (mplex.exe) that is shipped with cuttermaran or do you prefer the comclean remux (mplex1.exe)?
If someone knows which is better I can change if needed.

Wow! That's fast Erik, thanks Big Grin

Mplex1 that you ship, is MUCH better than the cuttermaran one.

Is it possible, to run renamerecordings before comclean?

I'm running into a situation where postprocessing.bat doesn't always run on recordings that end at the same time. Either comclean or renamerecordings, or both, don't work one one or two of them.
I'm running comskip in parallelprocessing.bat
I'm thinking that comskip will output the files, they could be renamed, then comclean could run on them.
Not sure if comclean would be able to find the files though.
The other option, may be to have dirmon run comclean...same problem with filenames though.Rolleyes

I'm just trying to get comskip, comclean 2, and rename recordings to work on ALL my recordings.

If rename recordings renames them into subdirectories and it is possible to tell dirmon NOT to act upon files in the main/root directory where the recordings are stored then you could run both comskip and comclean2 or only comclean2 from dirmon using the new names

Cool. Time to ressurect dirmon Big Grin
I started using SA and videoredo, then my trial ended on videoredo.
I manually edited with womble for awhile.
Got tired of trying to fine tune SA for all channels.
Tried your new comskip, and 2 days (and about 40 recordings later) I have 4 profiles that work on almost all channels.

Reboot,

You may have told me before but what was the reason you don't use comclean with retime in stead of comclean2 with cuttermaran?
I assume renamerecordings renames the .txt files and you don't run into the problem that the cpf file contains names to files that no longer exist.

So the suggestion to use dirmon to run comclean2 on the files after renamerecordings does not work!!!!.
You must run both comskip and comcleans together using dirmon because of the file names in the .cpf file.

If you want the ability to edit the cutlist to improve the quality you can edit the .txt file visually with comskip. (see debugwindow.rtf)
