I have just installed the latest version and when I try and watch TV the channels are not tuned properly. There is no image or sound and they just show wavy black and white patterns. The Hauppaugge WinTV2000 app has no problems, channels are tuned perfectly. I am running XP SP2 with a Hauppaugge PVR250

The tuning assistant provides no help, it tunes the channels to the exact same wavy bars.

I followed the quickstart guide, there was nothing about tuning channels.

Thanks
Jeff

Are you positive you selected PVR-250 in the recording source dropdown box?
Look in config.
You can never have enough tuners!
Pentium Quad / 4Gb Dual Channel RAM / XPSP3 / 2 x PVR-500, PVR-250 / GB-PVR

Yep, on the config screen,
On capture sources, added a capture source.
Edit the source, select direct recording plugin, click settings for that, I have selected PVR250, country Canada, Capture Device #1 (all other devices say driver not installed), source Internal tuner, tuning cable

I have also tried the FreqCopy util with no luck

freqcopy or some other tv software may have broken your system tuning space, since they write frequency override registry settings. This has been found to be a problem for a few users in the past. You shouldnt need to do this. There are instructions in a past post on what to delete in the registry to put it back to the default. I cant remember the exact details, so you should try searching for it.

Alternatively, if you're using the drivers that came on the CD, I remember that some of the PVR250 that were manufactured came with drivers on the CD that was incompatible with third party directshow applications (not WinTV, which uses its own custom API instead). If this is the case, update to the latest drivers from http://www.shspvr.com/smf
