Can you please take a look at these log files. I am using
ATI TVWonder (will it work?), ATI Radeon 9200, P4 2.4ghz HT, 120gb hd.

I have installed the files so I can select WDM as the source. Under the Playback tab, I cannot select Moonlight as the MPEG Software Decoder. I downloaded and installed the Moonlight mp3 player, which installed the decoder - was there something else I should have done here? All other setting are default.

Thanks

I could be entirely off base, but I think it required the Moonlight ENcoder, not the decoder. This means you're probably missing the required MPEG2 encoder filter.

The logs only show 1 attempt to play preview mode livetv and they seem to be missing a lot of debugging entries. Also it looks like the capture device was never configured. Please try and configure the capture source, and then provide full logs of your playback attempts.

Hi Normanr,

Any further thoughts on the non availability of the 720x576 pal res in your fine app?

Kevl: I haven't really been looking at it. One of the things for build 21 is that LiveTV's Preview and Timeshifting modes now have two different quality profiles.
I haven't been attacking the bug because it's only part of the configuration dialog. The strange long number problem is also fixed in build 21.

The fix is not really a lot of work, so I should just-do-it, and release build 21.

build 21 is out:

- Made PreviewMode LiveTV a different quality setting to Non-PreviewMode LiveTV.
- Made StuckTimeout configurable.
- Tweaked the Quality Profile config to deal with duplicate detected profiles.

Kevl: can you check to see if this helps during configuration.

Hi Norman,

Have tried version 21. Found that I'm still limited to 480 lines in config app as before. It accepts 576lines but when I close the window and then reopen it it has set 576 lines back to 480 lines.

Haven't tried entering 576 lines in the xml file yet.

Also now that I have a NovaT card installed I cant run the SW recoder and have the Nova T working.

I need to disable "use live preview if avaliable" in the misc tab of the config app to get the NovaT to work - otherwise it just hangs.

As Im not using the seeetspot card as a recoder - just a viewer this prevents me from using the SW app.

You mods to the sw app have fixed the list of colourpsace options. The list is now reasonable with no repeated colour specs and no curly brackets etc.

Many thanks anyway.

hrm, dump the logs from the config session. I'm not sure if they'll have any useful info, but it's worth looking.

Also: What are the min/max sizes it shows in the config app? (I assume it's up to 576, because the front end allows to that size? Is the 480 limitation on saving or loading the settings?)

There's an outstanding request with sub to make the 'live preview' mode selectable per card, not much I can do about that :-( If you install _any_ mpeg2 encoders, you should be able to get your sweetspot working in timeshift mode (with a loss of quality *sigh*)

I needed the guids in the curly brackets from the log files to figure out what I was missing. After that it was just a matter of looking them up on google, and giving them their right names.

Live TV settings inside the SW recorder settings (live TV and LV tv preview) dialog says

width in pixels 64->768 (768 default, steps of 1)
Height in pixels 32->480 (480 default, steps of 1)

when colurpsace is RGB24. Other colourspace settings always have the same mx numbers but have different step sizes.

Your dialog allows me to enter 576 lines and allows me to close the dialog but when I reopen the dialog it has set lines to 480.

Live TV mode works (but the picture is cropped at 480 lines).

As described previously the sweetspot card has WDM drivers and definitley can do 720x576.

Logs attached.

'Scuse me for butting in here but I have a problem which I need some help with- I have an old hauppauge wintv PCI board that I had working fine on an older version of of GBPVR using the WDM recorder software. I just popped the card into another machine which I hope to use as my home theatre system in conjunction with media mvp. I installed the up-to-date wdm drivers for the card and installed the moonlight decoder/encoder software I had downloaded onto my main PC.
I then installed the latest version of GBPVR GBPVR09516.msi and installed version .21 of the wdm recorder software. When I try and configure the capture source it shows the hauppaugue Win TV capture card but throws an error - , "error:not implemented" and I cant select a recording source - its blank!
I can save all my changes but when I try and watch live TV up pops the same error message "Error: Not Implemented" - any ideas - I have included my logs.
