New Member here.. just adding my experience..
I am a fairly new user to GBPVR, and friend of mine here got me interested in it... and we got it all running cept we couldnt change channels... Turns out the PVR350 dont have IR output (nice of them to let you know after you buy it) ... anyhow.. I too had an a older Gateway Media Center system that came with all the bells and whistles... and I decided to try and use that IR sender and remote.
The remote and IR/reciever part worked right off the bat in GBPVR but didnt change channels just like "Zed's" experience... and I really didnt want to buy anything else.
After alot of Googling searching forums, this one included... I happened upon an application called "HiP" ... it was basically a Girder like application but was still freeware... or was it pizzaware... anyhow.. I got in touch with the developer of "HiP" and with a little trial and error.. we got the IR unit working with GBPVR ... a few weeks ago
I had intended on putting together a how-to for this and sharing it with other users... but 'real-life drama' caught up with me...
Now my unit is the "Microsoft eHome Infrared Tranciever/Reciever" with a 2004 MCE Remote...
At the time of getting this all together I was using Win2000... since then I just built a new machine with winXP and am working on getting this all working again... but I feel I may have to back track to Win2000
Anyhow.. if you are still in need of some solution... I would be able to send what ever INI files I might have or detail what we needed to do.
