Ability to increase font sizes

I think it would be nice to be able to change the font size of the text displayed on my mvp. When Im sitting at my computer, there is no problem seeing the text, but when I am 10' away from my television hooked up to a MVP the story is quite different. The text can be very difficult to read.
I have no clue how this could be added.

try a different skin, there are some skins designed with larger fonts to solve this problem.

But large-text skins are a bit of an overkill if you're at a computer. I really liked that Paul Austen's plugins gave a menu option to increase and decrease text-size on the fly (eg Music Plugin and Check E-mail Plugin) which was great, but of course is something plug-in writers would have to do rather than sub or skin-writers.

if you add the ability to increase/decrease font size in the plugin then you may reduce the skinability (font sizes etc are all defined in the skin).

I extracted the new xmedia skin and tried to figure out how to increase the font size, but the directions were to general to understand specifically what I had to do and where I needed to do it. This is one example. The problem that I see is a new skin has to be developed to fix this font size for a common problem. A plugin that would actually standardize the ability to change font size within a tolerable range inside of the skin would be cool. You could limit the range so the skinability would not be compromised while still providing flexibility for those of us squinting at the screen. Especially when the detail description line comes up in the TV Guide.

You can specify a different skin to use for the MVP, so if you find the one that suits your needs it needn't compromise your PC usage!
