UKCinemaListings plugin error

Hi All

Just started using GBPVR (0.95.16) and loving it!! Nice work Sub, mate!

So I've mostly got my HTPC working, and tried the UKCinemaListings plugin, and although it shows up inthe main menu, whenI try to use it I get:-

error: could not find file "c:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\Blue\Common Dialogs\Prompt Box skin.xml"

I have the plugin skin.xml and DLL in the right place but thats all there was in the ZIP.

Any ideas??

So... I figured out that I need the Weather plugin which has the Common Dialogs stuff in it, but then I get an "object reference not set to an instance..." (NullReferenceException) when i try and start the UKCinemaListings plugin. Weather seems to work though

I've got exactly the same problems, but got no further with it.

These are the common dialog files for the blue skin. Can't remember where I got them from originally, does anyone else know? :confused:

Okay, thanks for that, but I found them in the Weather plugin (not sure if they're exactly the same, I'll check when I get home), but I got beyond the missing "Prompt Box skin.xml" problem, and got a "object reference not set to an instance..." error instead when entering the cinema-plugin.

Its no big deal, but I'd like to get it working for no other reason than to show the Mrs that this HTPC is not "just another DVD player" after all.

Reproduce the error and zip your logs (config.exe.log & gbpvr.exe.log). Will take a look, prob something simple.

I have had the same problem, but traced this to a bug where if you put in several cinemas, they are all listed in the "show default cinema" box. Obviously you can only have one default, so at the moment I've only one cinema listed.

Time to email the developer? ;o)

I believe McbainUK (author of the previous reply to my post) is tha author, so I'll try what you suggest (just the one cinema) and then send the logs to him as he suggested.

Thought I fixed this one (as it came up during testing), will take a closer look tonight.

In the meantime you can open config.xml and edit the 'defaultcinema' entry manually.

No need to send the logs. It was on my bug list for but forgot to sort it :o

V2.1 is now available on the Wiki. Go into the config app and set the default cinema number, it should save it properly now.
