im still testing it, i want to look into the memory issue. just thought i keep everyone in the know

when ever you play a song (actually play, not just added to a playlist) theres a TimesPlayed attribute in the database and this is incremented. so top 100 is just the 100 songs with the highest TimesPlayed number.

what its the exact problem you guys are having with the memory? i only seem to get a memory issue when i load a huge playlist but the garbage collector runs soon afterwards and the problem is gone (huge == 2267 songs (thats all i have))

Reven Hi, a couple of points.

MVP Remote. The green button toggles through the list style. However when you switch to Playlist Mode it doesn't work, nor does it work when you go back to Main view.

The Unmarked button was used in MM2 to play all iin a folder. Play now does that and the unmarked 'appears to be' unused. Any chance you could assign it to Random Play. Also Random/Shuffle appears on the 'Current Playlist' could you add that also to 'My Playlists'

Currently running over 4000 songs and dont seem to have a mem problem. However when others reply happy to check it out.

REven, if my memory serves me right, when in MM2 pressing PLAY when playing something started a new PLAY. It seems now that STOP must be pressed first, not a problem but not sure this is what you meant.

Also not a problem, but for clarity, pressing SELECT/OK only plays when at track level.

i just tried this in the "Playlist" mode (i assume you mean the mode that lists the current playlist) and it switched views fine, so i may have fixed this already.... (in the version im using i mean)

changing the mymusic.xml file in the keymappings should solve all the key issues.

Any chance you could assign it to Random Play.

random play, you mean random play of current folder/album (like what "play" does but instead of in order, play them randomly) or play your entire collection (all files in the database) in a random order?

so instead of loading a playlist in order (and then having to enter "Playlist" and clicking shuffle), you want to be able to play them in random order from "My Playlists" ? i could add a button like "Random: On/Off" to "My Playlists" which would indicate how to load a playlist. that way just set it to whatever you prefer and hit "enter"/"ok" will load it that way.

yeah this is the tricky thing, what seems more natural? im not even sure if its still this way in the version im using at the moment. should it stop the playlist and start the new album, or should it just add it to the playlist???? i think i prefer you having to stop it, just incase you didnt mean to clear the current playlist...

yeah "ok" only plays a song at track level, since it opens an album/artist etc at the other levels.

the garbage collector can take awhile sometimes, i only call it manually during cd ripping (since the CPU is running at 100% and it wouldnt run otherwise)

ok, yeah thats a lot, i doubt i will be able to test that many albums...... 1800 my god. how on earth can you have that many albums.....
how many artists do you have ? and was the memory issue just from when i introduced the "Albums" sorting mode? or was it there before. i may make it configurable which sorting modes are used.
