WDM Recorder using Software Compression

hi,
i get the error not implemented when i click on live tv.
Do you need VM7 or 9 on for it to work?

Can someone help me to get my Hauppauge WinTV card to work with GBPVR?

At first Live TV would display ok, but now its upside-down, back to front and has a white noise pattern over it. I can't get recording to work at all.

The tuner picture does display properly in the Hauppauge supplied 'AMCap' tool.

I've tried the RecorderTest tool, this also allows preview (with the same bad image as in GBPVR live tv), but the program crashes when I try to record.

What are the next steps for finding out what is wrong? I've attached my config.

wedgie, comdw: please attach full logs of your testing. wedgie it looks like you haven't even configured the capture source. comdw I don't see any attachments, please see if you can re-attach the config and log files. Also you could try GraphEdit to see what you can get working. (search this forum for info on GraphEdit).

OK, I'm attaching the rest of the info. I'm less confident about getting this working at all - the only tool that shows my TV output correctly is AMCap, even the supplied WinTV2000 application shows a distorted output. I can't get any audio from the tuner whatsoever.

I also included my lastgraph.grf file in the attachment, but note that this only gets created/updated when I preview LiveTV in GBPVR, not when I attempt a recording.

Not quite sure how to create the graph manually, unless someone can point me to a graph example for a WinTV card.

Hm, ok. First post on the thread asks for posts of working configurations that haven't already been detailed yet:

TV Tuner card: ATI TV Wonder Pro [Conexant CX8800-series chipset]
MPEG Encoder/Decoder: Listed as "ATI MPEG Video Encoder" and such; they're the set of drivers provided by ATI for use with the tuner card.
Other potentially relevant bits: Win2003 Enterprise Edition, 256M memory, dual Celeron 500, ATI Radeon 9800 128M video, Creative Sound Blaster PCI audio, TV audio is patched via an external line in cable.

Seems to work correctly for me with the v.22 release of the SoftwareEncoder plugin, the v.17 refused to let me select any video encoder or muxer [the dropdowns were empty, even after having installed the Elecard MPEG-2 encoder package and restarting the config utility]. Time shifting does work (currently paused as I write this); the only issue I've run into with the whole thing is that the OSD controls have a habit of vanishing while I'm trying to use them. Well, that, and a bit of slowness, but a fair portion of that is likely a combination of slow CPU & not quite enough memory.

I'm trying to get a Compro VideoMate DVB-T300 working with the Software Recorder. I get no video or sound.

I have created a graph with graphedit that works (see attached graph) Is there any way that I can get it to work.

brucep: can you rather do a screenshot of GraphEdit. .grf files can't be loaded unless you have the hardware to match them.

I noticed in your RecorderTest.exe application that you have a Generic Graph Recording Plugin. I was wondering if I could get a copy of this so I can test the graph I have created in your RecorderTest.exe application.
