I just installed GB-PVR, but I haven't been able to get it to work yet.  When I try to update the EPG, I get an error message:
Your EPG source does not appear to be configured correctly.  Please check the EPG Source Settings and try again.

My EPG source is set to Zap2it, and in the settings, I have typed in my user name and password (which work on the zap2it website), and the Pacific time zone.  I have saved the settings, shut down GB-PVR, restarted, and tried to update the EPG, but I get the same error message.

I have an Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-350.  I live in Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA.  My recording source is set to Direct Recording Plugin. I have set my capture card to Hauppauge 250/350, Country to CANADA, Board # to Capture Device #1, and source to internal tuner.

Any ideas?

Hi jarodl,

I assume you created your account at labs.zap2it.com? You can create another account of http://www.zap2it.com which are different.

Also, do you have any firewall running which may cause a problem? Do you use a proxy for internet?

Cheers,
Colin.

My guess would also be the firewall, or possibly you have a proxy getting in the way.

It may also just have been zap2it.com was unavailable at the time you tried.

Thanks Colin.  I had assumed that my http://www.zap2it.com account would work, but I had to create one on labs.zap2it.com.  The guide is now working.

I'm not in the same boat, but similar. I am also in BC and trying to setup StarChoice listings through Zap2it
When i choose update EPG it takes forever, its been over 30 mins and still sitting on "processing zap2it listings".
Is there something i'm missing? are there ports i need to forward to this machine or something? I havent received any error messages, i know it says please be patient but how long does this take?

Thanks

Ahh, after about an hour it got the info.
Now just messing with the program, am i mistaken or is there no way to record what you are currently watching, and continue to watch what youre recording?

Depending on the number of channels in your channel line up and speed of you network connection, it can take a long time retrieve the initial set of listings. If you've got a slow processor it can also take a fair while to process them. Subsequent updates deal with much smaller sets of data and are much quicker.

No, you're not mistaken. In the current version, you're either watching TV or recording - not both. (not entirely true, you can playback a recording as it records if you're using a PVR350 or MVP).

Thanks for the reply. This is the first PVR program I've been able to configure to work with the program guide for my dish, its very easy to use and configure with my pvr-250, but it seems just a bit incomplete for me to use yet. I need something the wife can turn on and record a show, then watch it back later and not have issues with.

Thanks for your help, i'll check back at a later date to see if any updates are made.

Fair enough. The project is very much a work in progress, so I dont expect it to be ready for everyone.
