PVR-350 AC3 Audio Output

Does anyone know whether the PVR-350 will ever support AC3 audio output? Is the reason it does not a software or hardware issue? If it is a software issue, then maybe I might wait for them to upgrade it, otherwise I'm looking at buying an XCard.

The reason I need AC3 output is that I just bought a new JVC camcorder which records onto a microdrive in DVD/AC3 format. I love the Video Library of GPBVR but can't hear my home videos. Very disappointing.

No it wont ever support AC3 audio. It is a hardware issue.

Honestly, I wouldnt recommend an XCard if you're using GB-PVR. Neither the XCard and PVR350's tv out are actively supported by GB-PVR anymore, and I wont be developing any new features for them in the future. The devices are just too much hassle for the small numbers of user that have them.

You're better off with a regular video card and sound card. This will let you have AC3 audio, and will also let you view DVDs etc that you wouldnt be able to do with the PVR350's tv out (or XCard).

Thanks for the quick response. I'm not using a display monitor, only the TV so I need TV-Out. Are there better options available for TV-Out? I'm new at this right now.

PS. Are you in NZ? My wife and I lived there for 7 years at Army Bay on the Whangaparaoa penisula.
