I just started using the Theater Listings plugin and getallmovies. Great work on both. However, I'm getting the following error in GetAllMovies:

'Cars:'
=> http://www.apple.com/trailers/disney/cars/
Fetching http://www.apple.com/trailers/disney/cars/
Found embedded movie link:
>>
Found an embedded link in the main page
Fetching http://www.apple.com/trailers/disney/car...eAddress+'
Looking for unique filename for 'Cars:' trailer ''
ERROR: Incorrect arguments to 'checkifexists' routine

It then aborts.

You might want to try the alternative to GetAllMovies, called GetTrailers. It is on the same wiki web page, and is more current than GetAllMovies. If the web page changes, GetAllMovies is likely to break, which may be happening in this case.

Thanks KingArgyle... I didn't even notice the other link.

GetTrailers definitely seems to work better, but the darn thing seems to echo a small, binary file to the console with every trailer it finds, making my PC beep. Here's an example of what it looks like:

Code:
/trailers/independent/iloveyourwork/
I Love Your Work
['http://movies.apple.com/movies/independent/iloveyourwork/iloveyourwork-h.ref.m
ov']
??moov   ·rmra   yrmda   ;rdrf    url    'iloveyourwork_h320.mov    ?chok   ?
?¦-   ?rmdr
=   ?rmqu   ?   ?rmvc    qtim            yrmda   ;rdrf    url    'iloveyourwork_
h480.mov    ?chok   ? ?°P   ?rmdr      d    ?rmqu   ?   ?rmvc    qtim

Except there's little smiley faces and such on a dos screen.

Any ideas? I wouldn't care so much, but the darn PC's speaker beeps LOUD at 2 am in the morning in a quiet house.

As an aside, anyone know how to mute the PC speaker in Windows? I'm kind of surprised that I can't find an option for this.

Here's how to turn off the PC Speaker:

As for requests for GetTrailers, neden is the author for it, so all requests should be directed to him, or start a new support thread for it.

Questions about GetAlltrailers:
1. Add an expiration date so that the file is deleted after like a month and if it doesn't exist in Apple's site
2. Do not redownload if file already exists

Thanks for the link, KingArgyle. Unfortunately it doesn't work for me. Neither of my XP machines have an option to disable the PC speaker, though I know I've seen it on other PCs. It may be related to my NVidia motherboard chipsets... I don't know.

I'd hate to pull the plug on the speaker since it's useful when the PC doesn't boot correctly. It looks like nedens may have an answer for me anyway.

Thanks again,
Tim

Sounds great nedens. My family and the dog will appreciate the living room PC not beeping in the wee hours of the morning. =)

Answers:
1) I definatly want to do this however I was not sure exactly how people would want it. Do you want it to delete them based on a number of days paramater in the config file? Or do you have some other idea in mind. Maybe just delete on a fixed number of days?

2) It doesn't redownload them on mine. The program is designed so that when it opens it reads in the trailer_history.txt file and gets a list of all movies its ever downloaded. Then when processesing if it find that there is a movie name in its list to parse that already exists in the list it doesn't process it. Then at the end of the program run it overwrites the file trailer_history.txt and writes in all of the movies that it has ever processed, including ones it just processed. If you think its overwriting the same movie can you look at the trailer_history.txt file and see if its getting written too or not.

My suggestion is that a parameter in the config file that would say something like. How many days to keep?

I would probably set mine to 30 or so. You can set -1 or 0 as meaning to keep forever. Also, my suggestion is that if it is deleted, but the trailer is still on the apple website, then it would redownload.

Here's my thinking: I download a trailer, but the movie is not coming out for another 6 months (take Da Vinci Code for example). I want to keep it longer than 30 days. I would imagine that about a month after it comes out, Apple will remove it from their website, and i won't need to download it anymore.
