hi sub.

Your IScheduleHelper interface has a method CancelScheduledRecording

Does this delete the underlying file, or just remove all the DB entries??

If its a 'ready' recording, then yes, it should also delete the file. Otherwise it'll just remove the DB entry.

You're not writing another 'recordings' screen are you? Sometimes I just wish the developers would add exciting new functionality (VOIP, IM etc), rather than yet another slight variation on what we've already got. Not a comment to you specifically, but in general...

Yeah I understand the comment and can imagine it might be frustrating. I suppose it just comes down to people wanting different things, I mean we have, what, 4 different music plugins now, and most of them I think a pretty similar.

So short answer is yes, but that only comes out of me wanting (and having the ability) to do something about it.

Most of these little projects start as something I want for me (and is the main reason I chose GBPVR over all the others because of the API you've written, and like you I wanted to learn C#). Then once they're going I release since the community seems quite into that.

Do you ever look at some of the plugins and think about incorporating one of them into base GVPVR plugin, i.e your Music Library, Video Library etc? functionality??

I promise my next one wont be a variation Wink

I hope that wasn't a rant...it's not mean't to be...and besides I'm so sad that I find this enjoyable - both the development, and the forums community.

It didnt really need a response. Your comments are pretty much as I'd expect.

I should point out that particularly in the area of the scheduler API, its usually a few releases behind what you can do in the normal GB-PVR screens (for example, with the API you cant set the number of episodes to keep, or to use the weekly timeslot etc).

I have considered it, but the main sticking point is how it would be maintained in future. I'm usually working on a different GB-PVR code base to other users, so there would be no practical way for the original author to continue to make change, whilst being able to change it myself.

Also I find most of the plugins contain too much bloat. I like things relatively clean and easy to find your way round. Too many feature can make things suck, and ugly screens with too many buttons.

The web admin was little more removed, so I was more easily able to let others help out. I originally created the web admin, but long ago started letting the community maintain it.

In a similar way, I also created the original weather plugin using two languages (VB and C#) as an example of how to write a plugin. Since then there have been numerous users that have taken ownership of it (first up was codemonkey, then others later).

And that's only to be expected. I think I saw somewhere else you said it was fairly hard to add API based code rather than just "write it".

Just lucky in this case I don't want the scheduling part just a change of view for accessing what I've recorded.

Maybe I should pass this one on to you if you're interested and relinquish it as a plugin.

Yeah I can imagine, and I'm probably guilty of it with the MusicLibrary re-write

I suppose with anything that invloves a community there will be differences of opinion, and differences of use from the developers original intentions, and I suppose all the developers can do is try and not take up all of your time.
