Explorer 2000 box OSD

Does anyone know if there is a way to disable the OSD on a scientific atlanta Explorer 2000? Whenever I go to change the channel with gbpvr, the IR works correctly, but sometimes the titlebar in gbpvr doesnt pop up fast enough, and you see the numbers being "keyed" into the cable box, then the comcast channel banner at the bottom, before the gbpvr one covers it up.

Thoughts?

My guess is that it's hard-coded by Comcast. You'd have to contact them to disable the OSD (if it's possible or they're willing).
