I am still trying to get the analog side of a compro videomate t300 to work with the software recording plugin. I can get live tv to work in preview mode but can not get any audio when trying to record. The file gets created and plays back but with no audio.

This is only a guess but i think i am not geting audio due to a channel tuning problem, also the video is speeded up even though i am choosing pal-i (UK).

I am using Software recoder plugin version 0.22
Win xp pro spr2
Latest gbpvr
No other plugins installed
I have installed the elecard mpeg encoder.

I have taken a graph from when i am trying to record.

Hey everyone (especially Normanr),

I've been trying for the past week or so trying to get audio to work. I have the following setup:

- Windows XP SP2
- GBPVR 0.95.16
- SoftwareRecorder 0.22
- ATI TV Wonder (TV Tuner)
- Comcast Digital Cable
- SoundBlaster Live
- Elecard MPEG-2 Encoder Standard 4.0 (also have ATI Media Center installed)

I initially tried with the Moonlight Encoder. Timeshifting worked, but audio did not. Afterwards, I uninstalled the Moonlight Encoder and tried to use the ATI encoders instead.

I've looked extensively in this forum and elsewhere, but haven't found any answers. I've seen that the ATI TV Wonder works and also that the Moonlight Encoder, Elecard Encoder, and the ATI Encoders work, however, I've never been able to get the audio to work.

I have the audio out from the ATI TV Wonder patched to the SBLive Microphone port via an external patch cable. However, when I use the ATI Media Center's TV application, the audio works fine.

I've attached the logs that I believe are pertinent, however I'm not experienced in GraphEdit, so if someone could give me a hand in that, it would be greatly appreciated.

Also, for some reason, the Moonlight-Elecard MPEG-2 Demultiplexer still remains in the A/V Muxer dropdown even though I've uninstalled it. Also, the Audio Encoder has two entries of "ATI MPEG Audio Encoder".

In any case, I would love to be able to get audio to work so I can experience GB-PVR the way it was meant to be.

Thanks a lot!

It looks like you've selected the Microphone input, should that perhaps by the Line Input? If the encoder is still listed, then it's still installed in some way (it may not even work). I suggest you try and re-install, and re-uninstall it. Another option is to find a codec cleaner. (maybe ask google?)

nope, the encoder is only used for recording. Maybe try using VMR7 or VMR9 if you're using overlay?

The screenshot shows that you're trying to use PCI audio, you need to pick the audio card if you're using the external patch cable.

Thanks for the response.
The graph was taken when using pci audio, i have removed the audio patch cable as i could not get this to work. I have set the compro software to use pci audio.

In the config for the plugin i get 3 options for the audio capture card.

If i choose videomate bda analog capture live tv works with audio, recording works but without audio.

If i choose videomate bda analog audio capture, live tv has no audio as does the recording. This is the same for soundmax digital audio with or without the patch cable.

When choosing the videomate bda analog audio capture option, in the graph from this for live tv in preview mode for some reason the audio rendered does not get connected. I can edit the graph to join up the audio rendered and this then gives me audio.

ugh, okay. I have made the assumption that says if the audio card != video card then it's a sound card, and don't both to add it to the graph during preview mode, rather tweak the mixer settings (otherwise you get sounds twice!). Looks like this is not always the case - but the SoundMax option should work!

Sorry to be a pain, but can you get GraphEdit shots of the "videomate bda analog audio capture" card in timeshifting/recording mode - (you may need to run the recording service with the "run" option, i.e. stop the recording service and run 'gbpvrrecordingservice.exe run' at the command line).
