I have tried to get a running graph for timeshift mode with livetv but it is the same as in recording mode for which i have posted a graph which you asked for.

In timeshift mode gbpvr exits back to the epg after creating a file and recording for a short time, during which i get no video or audio in gbpvr.

For some reason gbpvr will not show video when i use the elecard encoder.

I have installed the elecard decoder pack but do not get the option to use it in the gbpvr playback tab in the gbpvr config.

shade: iirc this is a windows bug, try installing DirectX and use the VMR9 setting. What OS are you using?

Jase: the graph looks like it's missing some stuff. Try setting the 'recording stuck after x' setting to like 9999, otherwise it'll try and reset the graph while you're playing. Can you connect the the recording graph and fix it, and get a successful recording?

I have changed the settings in the config to 'recording stuck after x' setting to 9999

This again is the graph that gets created when recording in gbpvr.

If i then open the properties box for the videomate bda analog tv tuner when gbpvr is recording in the graph.

Just by opening this box and clicking on apply i get working audio in the recorded file.

Just jumping in. I have a Compro video mate TV gold+. Thought I'd play with it to see what I could do.
Couldn't find the moonlight encoder & the WDM ecoder only gave me sound.
I dl'd the Sage tv 4 trial & that worked.
I decided to go back to GBPVR & give it another go.
If I choose the sage TV mpeg encoder /decoder/ muxer. It works.
I don't know if the encoder part stops working after 30 days.

However, trying to pause live TV tell me there are no free tuner's & then my only choice is to not watch TV.

I have gotten GBPVR working on another system using a PVR 150 which was pretty simple, but now I trying to set up recording using a Plextor PX-TV100U (link here: http://www.plextor.com/english/products/TV100U.htm). Is this even possible? It is a software encoding card but it can support DivX, mpeg2 and mpeg1 software encoding. I don't really know how to go about setting this card up (if it is even possible). Help, please?

xamen Wrote:- Windows XP SP2
- GBPVR 0.95.16
- SoftwareRecorder 0.22
- ATI TV Wonder (TV Tuner)
- Comcast Digital Cable
- SoundBlaster Live
- Elecard MPEG-2 Encoder Standard 4.0 (also have ATI Media Center installed)
...
I have the audio out from the ATI TV Wonder patched to the SBLive Microphone port via an external patch cable. However, when I use the ATI Media Center's TV application, the audio works fine.

The suggestion from normanr regarding patching the input to the line in port instead of the microphone port is the first thing I'd try; I wouldn't be suprised if what's being used by the SoftwareRecorder plugin is the line in port on the sound card you have selected, that and microphone-level audio (which is also mono) is different from line-level audio, and runs the risk of damaging the microphone port on the sound card or the line out port on the tuner card.

Other config details from my setup of GB-PVR+SoftwareRecorder:

Software Recorder configuration:
Video Capture Card: ATI TV Wonder Pro A/V Capture; Capture = Capture; Preview = Preview
Audio Capture Card: Creative Sound Blaster PCI; Input = Line In; Capture = Capture
Recording Source: Video: Tuner; Audio: Tuner
Video Standard: NTSC_M
Tune Twice: No
Country: United States
Tuning: Cable
Constant Channel: [empty]
Video Encoder: ATI MPEG Video Encoder
Audio Encoder: ATI MPEG Audio Encoder
Multiplexer: ATI MPEG Multiplexer
On Channel Change: Stop
Recordings stuck for X seconds restart: 5
Quality Profile Settings: Medium Quality [default settings under "Edit"]

GB-PVR Configuration, "Playback" tab:
Hardware Decoder Device: None - use software decoder
Software MPEG-2 Playback -
- Video Decoder: System Default
- Audio Decoder: MPEG Audio Decoder
- Audio Renderer: Creative Sound Blaster PCI
[Nothing under "Video Decoder Settings"]
VMR9
LiveTV pre-play delay: 600ms

Most of my other settings are GB-PVR defaults; I run GB-PVR in windowed mode mostly so that I can use it while doing other things.

I do have the Elecard MPEG-2 encoder installed, since I installed it when SoftwareRecorder v.17 would not allow me to select any video or audio encoder, it hasn't made a difference as far as I can tell, but I could be wrong. I didn't know at first that the ATI Multimedia Center even had MPEG encoder software that came with it at the time that I installed GB-PVR.

Hopefully this information helps. Smile

Hey,

First of all, big props to sub for some awesome software.

Second, I'm having audio/video sync issues. I'm using the Software Recording with a WinTV GO card.
I'm using the Elecard MPEG2 encoder.

Thinking that it's a problem with the mux, I've tried a few different ones.
The Cyberlink 5.0.0.1307 works the best, but at the end of a 30 min show, the audio is off by over 2 seconds.
The Elecard mux and the Intervideo mux have even more problems with the sync. By the end of a 20 min recording they're off by over 3 sec.
The Windows mux doesn't work at all; it just creates a 0kb file.

Has anyone else run into this problem? Ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Kevin

wedgie: I'm not sure what card you have, but it looks like it doesn't support tuning. Try choosing "None" as the tuning source and see if that works.
