Hi

I have recently upgraded to the new version. Now I am having problems recording. Sometimes it records fine (approx 700MB) per half hour, other times it records 250MB per half hour (sometimes 95MB).
When viewing these DVR-MS files, the sound is perfect (except in 95MB files) but the picture is very "stuttery". I have a NOVA-T PCI card.

Before the upgrade it seemed to work a treat. I have reconfigured everything but it still stutters. Could this be a signal problem or app problem. Are the old version still avaliable to download so that I can see it is a problem with build?

cheers, Rich

now then.... 'tis a very small world.
I'm in Bramley and had Freeview for about 4 years. Had to get an extra arial and I think its pointing to Headingley, maybe to Tinshill??? Signal is stronger through the PCI card than the Freeview box under the TV.
I've got 95.16 installed. 14 would be very good.... cheers

Going back to a previous version hasn't sorted the problem.

It seems to me, that the machine/PCI card doesn't wake up properly when recording scheduled starts and so I'm getting bad quality (stuttery) files.

Has anyone else seen this?

Just a thought.... It seems to oinly happen at night (so far).
Does the freeview signal get worse at night in the UK?

if its only happening at specific times, could it be something else is running on your PC at those times? like the EPG update or something like that? or scheduled defraging etc...

I've already checked for other processes etc.
Have disbaled the defragging all scheduled tasks have been stopped.

I have just done a test record now, and also streamed an MP3 via GBPVR and the recording seems to be perfect (329MB - 15mins). So i don't think it processor

Unfortunately all the good TV is on at night :-(

I cant imagine its the broadcast signal being powered down or we'd have others noticing it too, and i dont remember anyone mentioning it.

could it be something else in your house? ive read that if you have the aerial next to power lines and stuff like that it can cause interferance. do you live in flats? shared areials arnt very good for freeview signals...
