copies done:
local to network and usb stick, usb to network and local, network to usb and local.
also tried 'move' which didnt throw up any prolems either
nice stuff :-D
Much appreciated ricklous, having network issues here so not able to try network shares. Although after a brain wave I realised I could use this plugin to transfer photos from my digi cam to the PC. Works a treat Big Grin

Having a few probs with my front USB port and card reader - it wont recognise USB drive in any port and card reader wont recognise SD card. Its a long day so will look at those later.

iRiver MP3 player - deletes files ok, copies files from hard drive to player ok.
Local Drive to Local Drive - Moved and copied files ok.
Network to Local Drive - Moved file ok.

A few things i noticed though:

Move and Copy only work with files, not directories?

The Drive names dont match the names assigned in windows, i.e C:\ is called system, D:\ is Video and Y:\ is \\Home\Downloads\GBPVR.
If the windows names could be mirrored or assignable in config it would be more intuative?

As it is it looks great. usb issue, (and probably card reader issue) has been around before i instaled this plugin so its not a cause

Thanks for taking a look stu8080. Smile

Is this a question or a statement? It is possible to move, delete and copy directories. Tho it will appear to freeze if you copy a large directory (no progress bar yet) .

I think you are getting confused with drive names and drive types.
If you look below at the properties for my C drive, the drive name (or volume name) is Main, whereas the drive type is Local Disk.

The plugin currently shows the drive type (ie removeable, network, hard disk etc). I'm looking in to adding support for drive/volume name lookup.

No problem with the naming thing, i didnt realise.

As with the copying of directories, i have a feeling it didnt work, before i try it again are there any logs or specific info i can provide that help? Im not a programmer so dont know how best to feed back issues?

EDIT:
Tried moving a small folder Local to Local worked fine, i think the problem is more to do with my MP3 player.

Im also getting instances where the blue button does not give the menu, whats the keyboard command so i can se if its my remote playing up (i have had slight problems with my USB-UIRT reciever before?)

No problem. These early versions have no logging features (just reminded me that I should put some in!).

Best feedback you can give at the moment is a description of what you were copying (ie range of folders, single file etc), and the source destination details (ie "local harddisk to usb key" etc). Also include any errors messages that are shown.

Big thanks goes out to all testers Smile Expect a few more features to be added over the weekend.

Keyboard shortcut is CTRL-B. But I think the problem may be because of where the current selection is. If you are on the drive list it won't show the menu (can't copy/move/delete a whole drive). Also if you are on a [..] and have no highlighted items it won't show either (as no items are selected to perform actions on).

ello again,

just a small feature request, cant see if its possible at present. Would it be possible to hide a drive from the list displayed in the plugin?

Just thinking if non-techs are using it to transfer mp3s from the HD to their player, it would save confusion if you could hide CD drives and deamon tools virtual drives and so on...

Time for a brew first though :p[/SIZE]

I like this idea, added to the todo list. Could also hide drives you don't use (for example I have a 7-in-1 card reader with 3 drive letters, but I only use the one for SD cards).

Hello all Smile
Added a couple more features and fixed some bugs today. See updated zip file in post #7. To install, overwrite all 3 current files and extract the new file favorites.txt to gbpvr\plugins\FilesPlugin\

Changes
Added favorite folders feature.
Altered the skin to show entry info panels better .
Now shows drive/volume name on the drive list in additon to the drive letter.
Pressing Escape cancels popups (menu & favorites).
Added folder and file size lookup on the entry info panels

How to use favorites
First open the favorites.txt in notepad and edit to suit your needs. Format is:
Label
Path
Label
Path etc...

Then press left/right on the left/right pane to load a favorite.
