Hi Guys,
i found this really great tool and think it'll have a great future!

What i'm missing in ALL soft (not only your's) that i found till now, is the possibility for user like me, who want to save their recordings to an external or changeable Harddisk!
(I take this Swappable Harddisk out of myHTPC and put it in my WorkingPC for the cutting and athoring process)

So what i want is:  [Image: tounge.gif]
SavingPath for my records should be FIRST= "F:\TVCap\"
In case that it does not exist (it is taken out or powered-off) than it should be recorded as SECOND Choice to "D:\TVCap\"
And maybe it could be directly combined with a MINIMUM-Space option! So lets say:
If EXISTS "F:\TVCap\" AND availableSpace > 4GB then take this record path first
Else ....

And this CHECK must be done everytime BEFORE an recording starts !!!! [Image: wink.gif]

And so, as well, it must be possible to look in serveral paths for play back! (yes, i saw as well the other thread just requesting this feature!Wink

-----------------------------------------

Another thing is to get the possiblility to define, when programming a TV-recording, on each programming an own, maybe different quality (best by drop-down menu), so that i can use this with WinTVCap  (DVD,HalfD1,SVCD.....)

So WHAT DO YOU THINK, will it be a great problem? I really don't understand, why nobody takes care to the people, using USB/Swappable HD's with their HTPC?[Image: rock.gif]

P.S.:
Sorry to all english people for my bad english and mistakes. I'm german and it's really hard for me to explain my ideas and whishes in english!

That's really the abnormal case. Why not just define an place on your permanent HD to store the recordings and move them to your removable when you want to edit them. Seems safer anyway. That way you don't have to worry about the removable drive not being there when you have a program scheduled to record.

I think it would be good to have cascading record paths
ie
path 1
path 2
path 3

where if path 1 is full or not present, then path 2 is used etc.

this way, you could have 3 or more HDD's without haveing to copy the data around ( i have X 160 GB almost full & an almost empty 80 GB )
This would also help where the video library actualy spans a number of drives.
