Episode / Subtitle Display in Recordings Menu

Is anyone aware of a way to display the episode name in the recordings menu without selecting a specific episode? For instance, if I select Recordings -> Ready -> Seinfeld I then get a list of "Seinfeld"'s with the record dates. Instead of getting a list of dates it would be much more helpful to display the episode names such as "The Jimmy", "The Calzone", etc. right on that menu so that if I failed to remember what was recorded on a specific date, I wouldn't have to select each date to determine the content of the recording.

I believe that the XRecord plugin displays these details (as well as the program description) in the recordings menu, but am reluctant to install it because of skin compatibility issues.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You could try editing skin\blue\recordings\skin.xml, and set "DetailsViewNormalItem" and "DetailsViewSelectedItem" to include the @subtitle text somewhere.

I havnt tried it myself, but it should work.

Sub, your suggestion worked great. I just changed the "@title" to "@subtitle" and now the display shows the subtitle in the DetailsView... sections. The only problem I have is that for recordings with no subtitle, the subtitle field shows up blank (which is probably the reason the default is to display the title and not the subtitle). I'm sure that if I putz with the xml long enough, I could get both the title and subtitle to appear on each recording item, such that if no subtitle exists, at least the title would be visible. If and when I get that to work, I'll post my modified xml code here for others who'd like to make this mod, but aren't terribly crafty with the xml, such as myself.

Correct. In some parts of the world, there is pretty much no subtitle information.

For the next release I've added a @titleSubtitle string, which is the concatenated "title: subtitle"

You could always make the box bigger and display both.
