When I hit the TV Guide button, there is no notification that GBPVR is doing something. Mine takes 30 seconds to get going. If the button lit up (change another colour) until the guide came up, i'd know it was busy doing something. Now I have to rely on my HD light.

Thanks,
Paul

Slow computer with lots of channels in your TV Guide? I've never seen anything like 30 seconds.

It's a C3 900Mhz with a Radeon 7000 card and a PVR250. I have a load of channels (probably in the neighbourhood of 300) and have listings for 2 weeks. It's not what I would call "speedy", but it is #### quiet without any fans [Image: smile.gif]

Thanks,
Paul

I *was* using a 950 and had close to 300 channels as well. 30 seconds or more was not uncommon for me. After I upgraded to a 2500XP the time dropped significantly. I also upgraded the hard drive to one with an 8meg cache.

Sub: any idea if compacting the access database helps anything? I've done it once or twice in the past and shaved a few megs off it. Is this o.k. to do and does it help any?

Yes, its OK to compact the database - but it doesnt seem to help the load performance.
