New version notification

I rarely have a need to go to the Settings page except to check for a new version. It would be nice if the Settings link would turn green (like the new version available text). I think that would draw attention better when an update became available. It would also be nice if the new version number was also a link to the change log in the forum announcement.

I subscribed a very long time ago but stopped receiving emails at some point quite awhile ago. It is supposed to go to a gmail account but I never see it in the spam or trash folders either. I will change my email address and see what happens.
