This has probably already been requested.

I would like to have the ability to control via pin or something what can be played from the net radio, video and music directories.

Perhaps it could be implemented as a plugin which changes the configuration of what directories are available with a small login type process?

Not sure that this would work for the recording directory, but presumably the other directories can be changed? The question is does gbpvr cache its configuration and if so can it be flushed live?

I haven't had a chance to look at plugin's yet, but they look to make GBPVR very flexible.

ps. The other idea I had from doing this was in the plugin changing what the user the 'gbpvr' service could see via access rights, but this sounded pretty messy.

I would also love to see this included at some point. I know it would mean a change to the GBPVR code, rather than a separate plugin, but I like the way the jukebox plugin looks for a file (noindex) in a directory to determine whether it's indexed and hence displayed. It saves the hassle of having a complex method to control the access, and is easily managed by the user.

If GBPVR checked for an instance of such a file each time a directory is selected then that could determine whether or not to display the content of the directory. At some point an option to enter a pin could be added to the main menu to turn this check on and off, hence allowing 'parental control' to be turned on and off.

Possibily if the other plugins use the same GBPVR routines to retreive directory listing/content, then this feature would then be automatically available to all existing and new plugins (like the PicturePlugin etc). Just guessing of course, I haven't a clue  [Image: wink.gif]
