ati based 550pro tv tuner and gbpvr

i just bought this msi 550pro and should be here in a few days. Do all I need to do is download this software afterinstalling the drivers from the card and thats it all will work or will I need to install other programs or plugins to get the software and tv card to work. does this software also support the remote functions using winxp pro service pack 2

To use GB-PVR you need to have .net 1.1 installed, and an MPEG2 decoder.
The 550 Pro is supported, as well as the remote - except for a few buttons which dont match features offered by GBPVR.

MPEG decoders commonly come with dvd apps like power dvd etc.

I just bought the MSI 550Pro as well.
I am having a lot trouble getting the remote to operate GB-PVR the way I would like. The remote simply does not have button presses for things like 'escape', 'ctrl-left','home',etc. This is a problem especially for plug-ins because there is no xml keymapping (ie:video-archive plugin). I also have a harmony 520 remote which emulates the MSI remote but unfortunately it does not solve the problem I just described.

Did you set your remote type to 'MCE Remote' in the config app? If so, most keys should work.

If you have the same remote as most 500 pro's come with you need to set it as 'MCE Remote' on the channels tab on the config app. All buttons should work except for some of the buttons at the top.
