every so often, it seem maybe 1 out of 10 shows that i record have no sound. it might be a few in a row or it might just be 1 show that has no sound. i can watch other previously recorded shows with sound no problem, mp3's, live tv, so it doesnt seem to be the sound card.

i saw a few posts about the "last volume key", do you think this is my problem? its kind of irratiting that it does it sporadically, and I cant seem to nail down a pattern.

thanks for any help!

I have a similar problem to yours. I just bought a PVR 500. So I have 2 PVR 250 's which are device 1 and 2. My PVR 500 is device 3 and 4. I get no sound often on live TV, once and awhile on recordings. The way GBPVR manages the tuners is start at device 1 for recording, start at device 4 for live TV. That's why I believe in my case it's the PVR 500 card. I believe it uses the same driver as the PVR 150 card. What kind of card are you using? And what version of the driver are you using? I think mine is version 2.24.????

There is an old bug w/ some 150 drivers where sound wouldn't kick in. I'll bet if you watched in timeshift mode, you'd see it every so often, to.

Look into your driver version, and look at some of the updates at the haup site.

I think you will find the solution in the drivers.

I tried driver revisions 2.0.24.23035 and 2.0.24.23025 with my PVR-150MCE. I got some recordings without sound. I have been using 2.0.30.23083 for over a week and it is running flawlessly. I saw in a previous thread that Sub uses this on his PVR-150. I now see why.

ftp://ftp.shspvr.com/download/wintv-pvr_...prerelease

Sub, can we make something on recommended drivers a sticky? This seems to keep coming up.

thanks sounds like that could definatly be it then. i would have tried that earlier, but I just hate to update drivers unless i know that is the problem. i hate when new drivers make problems worse

Just be sure to run hwclear first, and pull the power plug on the PC for thirty seconds before loading the new drivers. I believe that is the recommended sequence. It has worked well for me.
