How to use VideoReDo to AUTOMATICALLY remove commercials

Thanks. I understand how it's supposed to work but all that's left in my folder where the file was saved is the jpeg for my videos.....no vprj file. Maybe that's the problem and I don't have it set right to work with Videoredo. I have v 2.1.2 but do I need 2.2 for this to work?
Can someone verify my settings?
I guess I should go back and just use reboots script until I can figure it out.

What version of Comskip is everyone using here?

Comskip 62 thru 79.22?

I'm not at home so I can't be positive but I'm pretty sure it's 73. I thought I had the latest but obviously not. Where can I find 79? I got it from http://mk.kaashoek.com/gbpvr/comskip73.zip

Never mind, just found http://mk.kaashoek.com/gbpvr/comskip79_22.zip but is one version better for this script than another?

There are a limited number of comskip versions that DO NOT output a .vprj.
I have no idea what they are, or why they do not.
I'm using comskip 7.9xx something.

pcostanza, just to make sure, did you go into the comskip.ini file and change the line output_videoredo=0 to output_videoredo=1?

This change is nescessary for you to get the vprj file generated. The few move lines I added to the script should not have any effect on this.

Last night I finally got it working using Viperdragons script and it is working. I'm going to try to add in yours tonite to take the originals to another folder which I like.
I even set it to record overnight in standby mode and it actually worked as well and my system was still in standby when I awoke. Didn't think that it would do the cutting in standby. I'm a happy geek wanna be now.

That depends.

If comclean works for you there is no reason to pay for videoredo.
Comclean does GOP based cutting, meaning cutpoints can be of for a second or so. It also can create audio/video sync problems, on the other side its extremely fast, I my self use it fully automated on all my recordings without any problem ever, but for others it is reported to fail completely.

Once they've gone through videoredo, are the files demuxed/remuxed in such a way that they are suitable to be burned to dvd?

What if i'm not using the myvideos dvd burning, but just using Nero? Does the MPeg created after comskip/videoredo allow me to burn to a dvd that'll play in a set-top dvd player?
