I currently have a PVR150 Retail (Model 1045) with the 45 button remote.
I want to buy a PVR150MCE OEM (the one without the FM and AV connector).

Now a friend of mine claims I can't get the hauppague remote to work with this combo, that I need an RF remote. I think he's wrong, but I'd like to be sure before buying. I want it so GPPVR uses both tuners.

Can anyone tell me if those two cards will work fine with one hauppauge remote?

My hauppauge remote has never worked once theres more than one hauppauge tuners in my system. quite a lot of posts to that effect on the hauppauge forums i seem to remember. I dont think it was the case with all instances of multi-hauppauge tuners though, as im sure it would be mentioned more here if so. It might be specific tuners that cant live with the one remote, like BDA and analog or something. Your best bet is checking the haupauge forums out for more detail info than my wishy-washy memory provides:o

Does the OEM kit come with the MCE USB remote?

If so you wont have a problem as you can use that instead of the remote that comes with the pvr 150 retail.

I have used multiple Hauppauge cards, including retail and MCE version and multiple retail versions... (although not specifically with GB-PVR).

Yes, the built-in Hauppauge remote stops working after installing a second (or third) card... but reinstalling the Hauppauge IR software resolves the problem. If you use multipe retail cards make sure you only plug in the sensor/blaster cable to one card... the IR software will detect which card has the sensor cable and use it.

i use a pvr-350, a pvr-150 and a pvr-150mce without problems.

i too had to reinstall the irremote-software. after this, everything worked flawless.

You just need to make sure that the registry entries point to the correct card type. Whichever card you install last will be the one that the IR32 software looks for.

I've had a PVR150 retail for a few months now, and just this weekend added a PVR150MCE (no FM) to my PC. Not one problem, and remote still works fine.
What, me worry?
