Hi,

I've installed GB-PVR on a recently built machine, and firstly I'd like to say what a splendid peice of software it is.

However, I have a problem. Although the machine's a reasonable spec, the recording that's played back (or viewed in timeshift mode) seems to slow every couple of seconds or so. This affects the audio and the video. It's almost as if, it's stretching a 25fps video to 28fps.

The card I use is a Hauppage DVB NOVA-T. I don't experience this with the bundled TV2000 software, just GB-PVR. It's fine when playing DVD's too.

I tried altering the DVB-mux thingy to use Intervideo (as I have WinDVD on the box) and if anything, it's slightly worse.

I disabled Norton AV to no avail.

Anyone have any ideas?

Cheers,

Neil.

Machine spec:
AMD Semperon 3000
1GB Ram
250GB Seagate SATA
GeForce 6200 128MB
Asus T2-AE1 box

Can you determine if it's a stutter in the playback in gbpvr vs. the recording itself? Trying playing the file with Windows Media Player, RealPlayer or something else. You need to first determine if it's a true flaw in the file or a playback problem.

It turned out to be a cheap USB bluetooth device.

I ripped it out, uninstalled the drivers and *bingo*

I'll check the manufacturers for new drivers later.

Cheers,

Neil.

Glad you found the problem. It's easy to overlook seemingly unrelated hardware. What bluetooth device was it? Might help others to avoid it.
