Well, that says it all really.

Got a Hauppauge MVP today (finally arrived from ebuyer.com) - it works with GBPVR straight away - brilliant.

It just won't play videos or live-tv - live-tv causes the MVP to reboot.

I have installed CyberCinema for the Mux, but still no success.

In fact, I get the following error sometimes pop-up in a dos box: FindFilterByName failed to locate filter: CyberLink MPEG Muxer

Can anyone point me in the right direction - I feel I am really close, but not quite the whole biscuit ;-)

My system is a P4 2.8 dual core with 512meg ram (will upgrade soon) - the TV card is a Nova-T and the MVP is the Hauppauge MVP.

I have also installed ShowShifter.

I have also included gbpvr.exe.log with this post - I hope this is the correct log file - I have looked in there, but there doesn't seem to be anything obvious to me.

The MuxChecker says:
Found: ShowShifter MPEG PS Writer
FILE: C:\Program Files\Home Media Networks Limited\ShowShifter\MpegWriter.ax

I have checked the registry and there are LOTS of Mux's - including the Cyberlink and Showshifter ones.

EDIT: Oddly, the Live-TV has stopped working even on the PC as well now - I hadn't changed any of the settings - curiouser and curiouser?
It still works in the Config though when you map digital channels to the EPG - the preview box shows perfect tv.

Thanks in advance.

You seem to have forgotten to attach the logs. You might want to add the gbpvrrecordingservice.exe.log too.
I'm not always right

Oops.

I couldn't attach them directly for some reason, so I have zipped them both up.

I'm guessing this is your cause. Maybe its an expired evaluation version? The ShowShifter doesnt seem to play nice for some people, particularly the newer versions.

Try either the Microsoft DVR-MS mux, or download/install/try the Cyberlink Mux.

Thats not correct. You're probably seeing 'demux' filters, or even video decoders. These wont work, you need a mux filter. All of them will be shown by MuxChecker.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I only installed the Showshifter one yesterday, and have just managed to get the Cyberlink one installed too (it shows in the MuxChecker now :-) ).

I have installed the latter remotely though, so will need to wait until I get home to see if it actually results in the live-tv being shown to the TV.

Thanks - I will post an update when I get in.

PS. Thanks for an excellent bit of software!

Bugger - it still doesn't work.

The MuxChecker now hows:

GB-PVR has detected the following multiplex filters on your machine:

Found: CyberLink MPEG Muxer
FILE: C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerVCRII\MpgMux.ax
VERSION: 3.0.10.21

Found: ShowShifter MPEG PS Writer
FILE: C:\Program Files\Home Media Networks Limited\ShowShifter\MpegWriter.ax
VERSION: 3.12.0.2945

But still no Live-TV - it was working on the PC, but now just a black screen.

It doesn't hang - as pressing ESC take the me back to the menu.

Any ideas?

Thats really really old.

The best version I've found is v5.0.1307. If you use the forum search feature to search for "5.0.1307" you should find references to where you can download it from. Remember to deregister the old one though, because if you have two Cyberlink muxes installed, it'll use the first one you registered.

Hi Dchurch,

Forget about the MVP for now. Does it work on the PC if you select DVR-MS? Also check out the thread about muxing (and where to get later versions):

Weheey!! It's working.

It stutters a little bit - but it's actually out to the tv through MVP!

Fantastic. Pausing works too.

The recordings are little out of sync, but it's early days yet!

It's only bl**dy working!!

Should I still upgrade the Mux to 5.0.1307 still?

The older muxes did tend to have sync problems.
