I'm a little confused now, Today my Xcard arrived and I expected that GB-PVR was a similar kind of software as Joveplayer who gives a full frontend thru the Xcard tv-out.
I installed the card, configure GB-PVR and then...nothing. Even my dvd's won't play. The original Xcard software and Joveplayer runs fine so where am I wrong?

The Xcard is connected with the RGB to Scart cable directly to the tv.

Yes, you should see the full GB-PVR interface via the XCard, including playing DVDs. That said, I dont have any equipment with scart connectors so I cant confirm connection via scart. Can you temporarily try to connect via SVideo or Composite to see if it works?

Do you get any error messages?

Also, are you running the latest XCard 2.x drivers?

Yes, I have the latest drivers and software from Sigmadesigns. I have put in a S-Videocable and connected directly to the TV. I see now the frontend of GBPVR but in very poor quality, like windows running at 640x480 with only 16 colors... I've also test Joveplayer with this cable and that looks oke. Even my DVD's won't come up in GBPVR. Very strange... I've tried all the possible settings without any result.

The OSD on the XCard is only capable of 256 colours, which is why I include the "Flat blue" skin. This skin looks much nicer on the XCard than the "Blue" skin which uses thousands of colours. You dont notice it on the Jove Player skin because it doesnt use many colors (in the same way as the Flat Blue skin).

How are you trying to play the DVD, from the hard drive or from a DVD drive.

Today I have installed the latest version without any progress.
It's a matter of output switching to the TV (Scart) I think. I can hear the soundtrack but have no display.

Is that a question? What are you asking?

Can you try playing a DVD again, then email your log files from c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr? I cant do any experimenting myself at the moment as my HDD is dead. Hopefully I'll have a replacement very soon.

Are you happy with the flat blue skin?

I like the flat Blue skin for the main page. I would suggest changing the guide so the transparency of the shows listings doesn't have that brown effect. Mabe complete transparency over a blue background.

Hi Sub, Today I will try to experiment with a fresh XP install and see what happens. The Flat Blue Skin I think is a little poor...I know, this is Freeware but when I compare it with Joveplayer...wich is much richer. Even photo's looking good in Joveplayer with only 256 colors. However, your normal blue skin looks beautiful and the overall feeling about GB-PVR is very good when I use it thru the normal tv-out of my videocard. Is there maybe a workaround to see the frontend in rich colors thru the vga/video-out and when playing a dvd/xvid the pc is switching to the tv-out of the xcard?
