Audio whine on PVR500's 2nd tuner

every recording made using the 2nd tuner has this audio prob. The audio level is muffled so I have to crank it up to hear it at all and when i do there is this whine from all the excess gain. Ive been fiddling for a while and have tried changing the quality settings , i've tried different coax connections (in case it it was a signal strength issue) .the video is perfect , actually everything except the audio quality is PERFECT. everything from the first tuner (video and audio) works fine.
The only thing i have noticed is that if the second tuner is recording at "high" or "medium" quality it has a much better chance of recording properly. The first tuner is recording at a low quality custom setting and works without fail every time while the 2nd tuner fails when using the same profile.

I think this is a problem with the connection. I had the same issue on the 1st tuner, but only using Coax. Sometimes the sound would be great; other times really low with a humming. I tried several different cords to no avail. However, I switched to A/V and everything is fine.

I would try some of the other interfaces on the second tuner.

I have also heard the PVR500's have a lot of issues with certain motherboards as well. Most recommend buying 2 of the 150 cards instead of this combo one.

I'm having a similar problem, I'm running two PVR500's, and on Tuner1 the audio is very low with a lot of static. It sounds like the audio gain for that tuner is set too low but there's I haven't found a way of adjusting the volumes yet. I've tried several sets of drivers, as well as different coax cables, next step will be trying the cards in different slots and see if I get the same thing.

i seem to have fixed it. i just swapped my NIC and PVR cards. I have my PVR-500 in PCI slot 1 and the NIC in #2. Nothing else needed to be changed and i can use whatever recording settings i like. heres hoping it stays fixed . Good luck Peter i hope it fixes you up as well.

Hmmm, pulled out a NIC card and put the PVR-500s in different slots and got the same thing, three tuners work fine, one has hardly any audio....the quest continues...

yeah well the problem is back so i guess that wasnt the fix. peter, is your audio problem always happening with recordings from the same tuner? mine always seems to be with tuner #2 (abitrary desigantion i know) but it seems as though some recordings are ok. heres another scenario... tuner #1 is recording something and im flipping through live tv using tuner#2.
As i go, the audio is good on one channel bad on the next and if i go right back to a channel it might be different just a moment later. The same randon audio problem happens with my recordings

Here is the easy three step process.
First we give your machine a Hauppauge driver enema by running this...HCWCLEAR

Now go to the following support page

for the PVR150 and 500.

Lastly Go back to the top of the page for "wintv-pvr-150 driver update and middleware pvr150_22_23257.exe"

You should be good to go
