Are you using the InterVideo Multiplexer?

I confirmed, I get sound in time-shift mode after changing the channel. I still don't get sound on my recordings. I found a cs file with the line of code you mentioned, but that is out of my normal area of expertise. I noticed the zip attachment you posted, but unfortunately, all of the ZIPs I try to download off the site are corrupted.

Any advice?

I used the setup.bat file to install, and although it seemed to complete the install, I got the following message while it was installing:

LoadLibrary("c:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\atixcode.dll") failed - The specified module could not be found.

I confirmed that the atixcode.dll file is in fact in that location.

I'm testing to see if I can get it to work.

build 24 is out:

- Added option to double-start recordings.
- Made mixer detection slightly less picky.

it has received minimal to no testing, it has some fixes from kmtrue, that might sort out some issues related to no sound until you change the channel.

pBS: unfortunatly routing is done inside crossbars, rendering is done between filters. I've asked sub to tweak the pin logic, he's added it to his ever long todo list :p

JawBone: if you can't get the Avivo stuff working, please use the other thread for support. (linked in #1 and #881)

Success!!! Big Grin

Using the InterVideo Encoders/Muxer

I applied build 24, and that fixed the need to change the channel to get sound in time-shifting mode. I was still unable to get sound from my recordings, though.

Obviously, there was another factor contributing to my demise.
On the Software Recorder Configuration sheet, I found a checkbox next to recording source that says Double Record. By checking it, I was able to get sound out of my recordings. But it was so loud it was causing pain, as I had on a pair of headphones.

On the Volume Control mixer, I had the Wave volume turned up to max for some reason. I found that Volume is controlled by CD Rom volume in Live TV mode, and Wave volume in Recoding mode. As I take a look back at my config., it all makes sense.

Shots to normanr and kmtrue for all the hard work.

Now the issue at hand. While recording and watching Live TV, or playing back a recording, the audio drags a split second behind the video. Can these be synced somehow?

Once again, thank you guys for your help thus far.Big Grin

Okay. I'm stumped. I tried to add the External Recorder Plugin, and now the Software Recorder Plugin will not save the Capture Source after you hit okay. It reloads the service and closes. When you reopen the Config. The Capture sources box is empty again.

I uninstalled GBPVR, reinstalled, and I still have the same problem after I add the plugins. Unfortunatley, I added them both already. I may try to uninstall again, and reinstall them one at a time, and test in between.

And everything was going so well. Sad

woops, should have mentioned that 'Double Record' needed to be checked. It's the only visible difference between the version, so good catch on finding it :p

The External Recorder and Software Recorder live side-by-side on this pc fine. What's ended up in your config-recorders.xml file? Are they maybe trying to save to the save oid? (They shouldn't ever) If you remove one or the other, what changes? Can you attach the config.exe.log from when you try and edit and save both the capture sources.

Sorry for the delay. Stayed home from work today to play with this. Smile

Ahhh...makes sense...I didn't remember seeing the checkbox before.
Thanks norman.

I figured out the issue with the External Recorder and Software Recorder. I followed the instructions in the install.txt file the first time, and copied everything in the gbpvr folder to my installed gbpvr folder. This resulted in preventing my capture sources from saving.

So....
First, I started over, and got Software Recorder working.
Then, instead of following the install.txt instructions, I only copied the plugins folder(and its contents) for the External Recorder into my installed gbpvr folder. Wouldn't you know, every Capture Source I created while having the issue populated the list. I actually had to go back and delete a few. Why this behaved in this manner I do not know. Maybe you have some thoughts.

Now that I have it running, I installed UbuStreamCmd and loaded the default webTV channels. Unfortunately, I cannot change the channel to these streams very easily, and since there is no schedule info in the TV Guide, I cannot click on them to watch them. I have to choose channel 2 and go down to the highest numbered webTV channel. Or go to the top of my regular TV channels, and go to the lowest numbered webTV channel. If I try to type the channel in from the keyboard, it shows in a box at the bottom left of the sceen, but does nothing. I can change the number in the box, but no action takes place.

Sorry to be so long winded.
Any thoughts?

Personally, I work as one of 2 IT people for 220+ users and a network that spans a 20 mile radius. I'm currently Project Manager on a multi-thousand dollar project to install a very large Cisco VoIP implementation at all of our facilities. That being said, I stayed home today to play with this program. Does that tell you anything? Wink
Eventually, I would like to get into developement. Unfortunately, I have got too much on my plate as it is right now.
I don't know your stories, but thank you all for the time and effort.

Glad to hear it's all working now Smile I should probably put a notice in saying don't replace config-recorders.xml if it already exists.

Try hitting enter after typing the channel number :p I've noticed a option in the config app for 'phone like number entry' or something like that, but I'm not sure what it does though.

I'm busy with a lot of stuff. If you're interested, my blog post from last night is the easiest place to find out what.
