Hey,
I would suggest you check your deinterlace settings within the MISC tab. Where it says, use live preview mode if possible, (checked) there is a drop down box below it.
I found it got the same error unless I had the de-interlacing set to "encoder pass-through" Dont know what this does - but seemed to clear it up all the time.

What TV card are you using? I am using Winfast PVR2000.

Reproduce the error, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

I just started getting this problem on a perfectly working install (over 2 months).

Did a complete uninstall (including registry cleanup) and re-installed with no joy!

Logs enclosed

Yours problem is different to the previous poster. What capture card do you have?

"Object reference not set to an instance of an object" is a fairly generic message that can mean all sorts of things.

I have a Compusa TV tuner card labeled as Norwood Micro but uses the Conexant 23880 Video Capture driver. My assumption was that it is compatible because it works with the GB-PVR tuner assistant just fine.

Thanks! I was planning on getting the WinTv PVR-150. If I do get that tv tuner and use GB-PVR, will it output to this type of file? MPEG-46 SP with B-Frames with stereo sound. Near DVD quality up to 720x480 @ 30 f/s (NTSC), 720x576 @ 25 f/s (PAL), AVI file format

The reason I ask, is I have an Archos AV500 and my goal is to record shows on the TV tuner card and then copy to the AV500 without further converting.

Thanks!

John
