Ok, I just did the update from GB-PVR v0.95.16 to GB-PVR v0.96.8 and all is good but now when I change a channel it changes the channel but the picture is just all static (snow), I can exit to the main menu then back to livetv and then it works.....I would assume that a clean install might fix the problem but just trien to avoid that cause it takes awhile to get everything back in place....

thanks

Well a clean install did nothing, I uninstalled GBPVR09608 and even deleted the devnz directory and did a clean 96.8 install, still had static, it's wierd, you could setup several shows to record and they record just fine but if your watching live tv and change a channel or if the hour comes around to restart the time shift mode it just goes to static again, then you exit to the main menu and back to live tv mode and the picture is fine......got me, for now I just uninstalled 96.8 and went back to 95.16, that version works fine, I guess I'll wait till the next update higher than 96.8 and hopefully that bug will be fixed......

There is nothing like this that has been fixed for the pending release. This is the only report of seen of this, so it must be something funny in your setup. I am surprised at the description of this problem though. There hasnt been any changes to this side of the recording stuff in quite a while.

If you try 96.8 again, post the logs and I'll take a look.

I thought of the logs but I wasnt sure if it would say anything about this issue, would it be possible for me to install 96.8 to another directory to try it or will that make a conflict with 95.16, just so I dont have to reinstall everything again if we cant figure it out.....??

thanks

You can only have one version installed on a machine.

Im just gonna use version 95.16 till I get my new system (Tax Refund Smile ) then I will try again, it might be the fact that I'm using a micro XGA converter box to get the signal to my tv, the video card I'm using has no S-Video out and is only a 64mb nvidia Gforce 3, as why it works with 95.16 but not with 96.8 is strange, like I said, I'm gonna get a whole new system in a fue weeks here.....

and thanks for helping me.......

This is a long shot, but try it... I had a similar problem tuning to specific stations with GBPVR because it uses the DirectX channel mappings stored in the registry. Some other app had modified these I think and it had wacked out a couple of my channels.

The solution is just to remove all the custom tuning frequencies because the defaults should be fine. To remove all custom tuning frequencies...

Go here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\TV System Services\TVAutoTune
Remove all values under keys labeled TS0-0, etc...

Feel free to back up this tree before you try it to be sure, but it can't hurt. Takes affect immediately, no reboot required as far as I know.

You are not alone. I too have this static problem, which has only appeared with the new version. I haven't had much time lately too look at my setup, but if I get a moment next week I'll try a clean install and attach my log files.
