Thanks.
Sounds like your very busy. Hang in there, life has its moments!

I have found that typing a channel from the tuner and hitting Enter works. If I type a WebTV channel, it comes up at the bottom right, but Enter does not work. I can cycle through them, after I close each media viewer, have the GBPVR sreen active, and then hitting the up and down arrows on the keyboard.

Just curious before I call it in.
Do you know of anyone having had any success with running GBPVR over remote desktop administration, terminal services clients, or Citrix clients, and being able to view live TV? Is it something that can be done?
That would be quite an amazing machine. Especially, if it was develope to handle multiple tuners, and client sessions. the possibilities of this application never cease to amaze me.

Just a thought.

It works perfectly (disable preview mode), but be just remember that you're sending uncompressed video and audio across the network (unless you turn on compression at the remote desktop level). MPEG2 from your capture card is a much lower bitrate, and better quality. So perhap you'd like to look at the web admin's live tv streaming capabilites, and perhaps the webStreamer project too. It's not possible to start LiveTV via those interfaces yet, but it might be in the future (only watch current LiveTV - non-preview again, or watch already recorded shows)

Well...um...well...:confused:

I have a RDP session open, and for some reason cannot access my capture card. When I try LiveTV it says it cannot find a tuner, and if I try the Config, Capture Source for my STB TV PCI (WDM), I get a no audio device found error. <see attachment>

Am I missing something? With WinXP there isn't a compression setting via the GUI. Win2000 yes but not XP. I can view recordings just somewhat choppy video via 802.11g, but the sound is clean. I tried my DScaler MPEG2, but Intervideo was faster rendering. Any thoughts? Should I create a new capture source maybe?

The following is what I get when I click the details button.
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog.

Sorry for the novel.

Recording Source in Control Panel audio properties is empty. :eek: There is not one listed to choose. Is there a patch or driver?

FYI
WinXP Pro on both machines.

I have installed GBPVR on my Aldi/Medion desktop (nov2002), configured EPG, I did manage to import the TV guide, I manually inputed the frequencies of the channels of my Dutch TV provider, I even managed to get 1 channel and sound active in the 'live TV' menu.
So far so good, for a basic computer user like me......

I now cannot change the channel in 'live TV'. I figure the configuration settings should be different, but I have no clue where to start.

It appears that the channel I do see on GBPVR is the channel that was last chosen on Power Cinema (preinstalled). That is the only channel GBPVR shows, regardles what menu-route I follow....

Who can help me get the configuration right?

If I need to include logs, where do I find the logs I need to include?

Thanx
Koenjip

If you've got a capture card that can capture audio from the tv card directly, then use that mode, otherwise if you have to capture your audio via your sound card - then you've run into a catch-22 situation here. If you 'leave audio at the remote computer', then it records the sound, but plays it remotely. If you 'bring sound to this computer', then you'll hear playback, but won't have a recordig source Sad

A very successful alternative is to set up a GB-PVR Network Client.

The 'source channel' is the channel number not the channel frequency. So they shound be 4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11.

Also you need to pick the 'right' values for the Capture and Preview pins in the drop downs on the right hand side. Normally this would happen for you, but I assume the dutch translations are being supplied, and the plugin looks for the english names.

It's not finding a crossbar 'Recording Source' which isn't great. I hope you card doesn't have video in, because that's what the recording source is used for.

The logs would be in the gb-pvr folder, the important ones are gbpvr.exe.log*, gbpvrreocrdingservice.exe.log* and config.exe.log*. Just do some tests, open the config window, etc, then zip them up and post them as an attachment.

dfdario: build 23 has support for that (build 24 is current dev). The Wiki lost some data last week or so ago, so I've re-updated the Wiki page to match what's available.
