This is normal. You cannot get VMR will not draw any frames to the screen unless video is playing. If it bothers you, you can switch to Overlay.

The 'VMR9 Custom' renderer option is the beginnings of a replacement for VMR to work around this limitation.

Just found out that I've got this problem myself. Running version 0.96.8; will upgrade after the hockey game to 0.96.12 to see if that helps.

For me, I've left my computer on for the last couple days not really doing anything with it (so the screensaver has been on the entire time). Pressing the TV guide button gets me out of it, however, mouse, keyboard, as well as the arrow and enter keys on the remote control (and maybe others on the remote; didn't try them all) didn't work.

Not using any plugins; just a standard, clean install of GB-PVR.
GB-PVR v1.1.5, 1x Hauppauge PVR-150 (v.2.0.48.25037), 2x Hauppuage PVR-500MCE (v.2.0.48.25037), Athlon XP 2500+@3200+, 1GB DDR RAM, Diamond AMD Radeon HD2600 Pro 512MB DDR2 AGP (v7.7), NVIDIA nforce2 Ultra 400 Chipset (v5.10), Chaintech AV-710 (v500b), Windows XP Home w/SP2, Microsoft .NET 2.0, DirectX 9.0c (Aug '07), NVIDIA PureVideo decoders (v.1.02-223), SchedulesDirect, Dell 2405FPW; DVI

Yeah, thanks for that. I'm not going leave it running on my development machine in the debugger for 5 days.

If you can find a much quicker way to reproduce it (less than an hour), then I'll look at it. If not, then I wont.

Sub,

the time delay was the reason, I'd not bothered to post the problem either, I 'fixed' it by disabled the screensaver and stopped worrying,

But I do figure it out I'll let you know...

Sub,

Not sure if you've looked at this recently, but I have a log of the screensaver problem. I too left it unattended for 5 or so days before noticing it. I'll do the same as others and disable it for the time being.

I'm fairly sure I've found the cause of this, so it should be resolved in the next release.

I've got the same Problem.
To get out of the screensaver, just press the "Windows"-button on the keyboard.
