Watch Internet TV-streams possible already?

Hi, is it already possible to watch Internet TV-Streams on the MVP? I have found information on this forum that says you can use VLC to do so. I already have tried something like using VLC to save the webstream to an avi file which I then can play with the video library. This was all done manually.

What I would like to know if it is possible to start something like this automatically?
