I have no iodea why this doesn't work

I can watch GBPVR in LiveTV and via TV Guide on my PC, but not via the MVP/NMT. Odd things is I can navigate the MVP/NMT menus (oddly they are a bit slow) , but when I say watch LiveTV or watch a show via the guide, nothing happens?? It still seems to record OK from the PC, and I can watch these, but it doesn't want to "fire" up liveTV from my media extenders???

I'm having the EXACT same problem. My screen will show the guide, it will display the channel it's trying to play, and I can watch the icon on my computer go from green (while trying to view), to Gray (when stop or back is pressed). The system appears to be doing everything properly EXCEPT providing the video to my MVP.
I can even go to my TEMP folder and open the saved recording from my MVP session (watching live TV). I can then view that recording on my PC, but not on the MVP.

I've tried the haup dongle, the default dongle and dongle.mvpmc-20080405.bin.
None of them change the behavior.

So I tried playing back some recordings that had been made previously and I tried some MPG files I have in my 'My Videos' storage. None of them display either. And these are videos that played back through my MVP previously using the default dongle.bin. Even more odd is the playback of these previously recorded videos cannot be stopped, they seem to lock the MVP up and I have to power cycle it.

So I tried checking the other elements that have worked in the past. My Music: no longer working; My Pictures: Still working perfectly; Net Radio: no longer working;

Both My Music and Net Radio APPEAR to be playing (listing song playing) but no sound comes out. To be sure it's not my settings, I stopped gbpvr recording service and fired up the old Haup MVP interface. All my recordings and music play back OK.

Hope this helps in targeting the problem.

PEACE

jksmurf, are you trying to watch livetv through the xsuite plugin maybe xguide? I see messages related to access to a livetv player that I am not used to seeing in the MVP logs. If so could you remove this and see if the problem is in the plugin.

Talcum, your problems sound very much like you have not let PVRx2.exe through your firewall and I don't think they are related. You will need to upload your logs if this is not the problem.

M, while I use Xsuite, I only ever use Xrecord to watch recorded shows. For LiveTV, I always go into the native GBPVR Guide and watch from there. I only tired LiveTv as a test. I will uninstall Xrecord and see if it makes difference though. This is really driving me crazy.

Doh!:o:o For future reference, when folks move from one PC to another, and you copy the config.xml across, don't forget to CREATE the LIVETV Buffer dir on the new PC.

Oddly enough you might think it works, because for some odd reason, LiveTV works on the PC WITHOUT that LIVETV dir, but for the MVP and PCH to work, you need to actually CREATE the dir you specify for LIVETV in config ... :o

Live preview mode on the PC doesnt write any buffer files, which helps explain this...

Ah... actually I have my wife to thank for the pick-up (she's an Electronics Engineer, so she's smarter than me...).

I realised only when she said "go upstairs and have a look at the PC" that the little recording status window said something was happening, so I looked to see if the file was growing in the LiveTV Buffer ... and there was no directory ... hence no file ...

It was a "bow your head dumbo, you're doing the dishes for a week" moment... Big Grin

I too am in the DOH pile. I forgot to create the buffer folder too.
I haven't had time to post til now, but it all worked once I created a folder for the TV buffer.

Long live GB-PVR.

Clearly we're both in the "honourable and useful" Bernard Shaw life-category here :-)

I have the exact same issue.

PC is a Vista high spec.

NMT PCH

Live TV is clickable, the gbpvr service runs and opens up, creates a .ts file it gets to about 14mb then stops and goes back to sleep. The PCH goes back to the main menu again Sad

Should I post logs?
