Just wondered if anyone knows whether a TV aerial feed can be split and then half of it used as a fm radio feed? What I mean is only have 1 aerial and use a splitter so half tv and half radio?

Thanks

I was going to attempt an explanation of how aerials work (i.e., them being designed for specific frequency bands etc.) but my brain is tired and it's been 20 years since I did RF theory at college so I'd probably end up talking wibble. Big Grin

In short - a UHF TV aerial is designed to pickup waves of UHF frequencies. It will pickup a level of FM (VHF) waves but the transmitter power for FM radio is way below that of TV broadcasts and the aerial isn't designed to do justice to any other frequency band than UHF. As such, generally, any radio pickup will be swamped by the TV signal.

I'd personally just try the 'tape' aerials that come with cards with FM tuners. Other than that try a powered desktop (rabbit ears) type aerial or a loft-mounted 'T' FM aerial.

Cheers,
Brian
